Yes, Pitt has a great Football History. No denying that.

I return to form is inevitable.

We may have 2-3 year spurts, but until the WPIAL realizes its not 1985 anymore and starts mimicking how leagues in the south are run, the lifeline for Pitt won't be there.

Yeah, as soon as the WPIAL can figure out how to get the snow to stop in Dec, Jan, and Feb, it can start playing year around like the southern states

There was foul weather up north in the past and the Pittsburgh area was the lifeline to PSU, WVU, and Pitt. And there was still enough talent to pass around for the ND's, Ohio States, and Michigans of the world.

Fact of the matter is the WPIAL and PIAA are far too old school. And the culture in general is too old school. Shoot there are spring football games in Texas & Florida that has 10K crowds.

You do realize that one of the reasons for the emergence of southern football is populations shifts? Yeah, the rust belt used to be a major football producer because people actually came into the area because of the abundant jobs. That ended in the 70s and 80s and people moved south and west. The "issues" with PA football have little to do with the WPIAL/PIAA and mostly to do with the population drain that PA (and the other rust belt states) experienced over the past 30 years.

1. Did you go to Pitt?
2. Did you not follow a college football team until you were old enough to attend college?

You don't drop the team you have cheered for your whole life just because you attend a different school. I have a whole side of the family split between FSU/UF. I doubt everyone here has attended the school they cheer for in the ACC.
