RE: BOYCOTT ESPN
TBH I don't even turn ESPN on in the offseason. No need. I get all the sports news I need via Google Reader and Twitter as well as TSN's iPad app. ESPN is horrific when it comes to 1. breaking actual news (LeBron's favorite sandwich choice/LSU's latest 12-year old verbal commit notwithstanding) and 2. sports analysis. So yeah, sure, I'll boycott, as it'll make no impact on my life at all.

I really hope ESPN doesn't get our TV contract. Then I'll have no reason to watch them.

I stopped watching ESPN 10 years ago. ...and I figured out a long time ago that they could care less -not that I expected them to notice.

It won't, but I'll certainly feel better.

In all fairness, just about all of TV has turned into a smack board of sorts 03-puke

I used to put ESPN on and do work around the house, using it as background entertainment (like Muzak).

Now I only turn it on if I absolutely have to (to see a game involving the Big East, the New England Patriots, or the Texas Rangers).

Came home, saw the Bailey interview, got pissed and switched over to NBC Sports. I didn't know Erik Kuselias was on there and their show is pretty good.

I have hated ESPN for the last few years and it just intensifies when they propagandize like they do today. I watch games and not much else. SportsCenter has become an infomercial for their properties and sponsors and I can't stand it. Segments like the Coors Light Cold Hard Facts in the actual broadcast are too crass for me, hell, their anchors should wear Nascar style suits with the corporate logos on them.

Only watch ESPN when UC, Reds or Bengals are playing.

Sadly, we all know the New Big East will go out of business before ESPN. So, yes indeed that will show them. 07-coffee3

RE: BOYCOTT ESPN
the only way this could have any impact is if ALL of our potential 32 million viewers in the Big East decide to stand strong on this front. It is weird because I ABSOLUTELY despise espn, but for some reason, whenever my wife is not around or I have control of the remote it is on espn. I can't wait for sports to pickup so I can start to make the switch to NBC sports

I haven't watched ESPN for years (unless the Dodgers are playing).

Did my own little boycott because they would never mention the Aztecs or play a highlight of the Aztecs.

Watching ESPIN is like watching Drag Racing on TV.While lots of Racing going on in background, they spend 70% of the time in the pits doing boring interviews with the pro drivers and crewchiefs. Same with ESPIN BB coverage ,while BE,SEC,Big10,Big 12 games are being shown, they spend way too much time talking about UNC and Duke. Am I Wrong?

I find it ironic that the drag racing you speak of is aired on, you guessed it, ESPN.

LOL ESPN is horrible, why do I watch it??

RE: BOYCOTT ESPN
ESPN is just a classic monopoly. Or at least in the world of CFB they are. Once they get so big and dominant, they no longer need to compete for viewers. Consequently, they can do whatever they want. When some competition arises, as will in the natural course of things, then ESPN will again have to compete for viewers. A good parallel (love them or hate them aside) is CNN. For many years they were the ONLY game in town. Who would have ever thought that cable network start ups could ever eclipse CNN in viewership? It was inconceivable. But it happened, when enough viewers didn't like what they were seeing on CNN, and someone else saw that opportunity and filled it with competing products.
