I was just out taking a jog and i couldn't help but feel the excitement for this upcoming season. I feel like a little kid counting down the days until Christmas morning...

Anyway's though, just a few thoughts as i was taking a jog:

This season will be the most competitive season in sunbelt football history. There is alot on the line for schools coming in the conference (USA) and the schools making there last impression within the conference for they will be transitioning to CUSA (FIU & UNT).
Troy has had its worst season in a long time...92 i think? So it is critical for them/ us whatever, to gain ground again if we still want to be the icon of the sunbelt.
ASU was top dawg last year but they still have alot to prove if they want to maintain that position. They have alot going for them with a new/great coach, great recruiting class, etc...but with "THE" LOUISIANA right behind them and then WKU there is alot on the line. "THE" LOUISIANA will be a top contender and WKU's main goal this season is....revenge...bowl eligible. ULM....can't really say much about them bc honestly i dont know. FAU will slowly progress but we won't see much from them i don't think.

My top picks for 2012: ASU, Troy, "THE" LOUISIANA, FIU and WKU....they will set the tone.

Sorry i typed this up fast and kinda just threw this out there off the top of my head...if anyone has any thoughts on anything lets hear it..

I dont know, I really seemed to like the way the 2011 season turned out.

Yall, look, I see both sides of it. I don't think he intended to incite a pissing match. It would be like me calling ULM "monroe" which I probably have at one time or not. I don't think they'd take offense to that. BUT, our Louisiana friends don't want to be associated with the Lafayette Leopards, a lower division school. So lets try and respect that.

Oh, and no hard feelings, sometimes people are a little oversensitive here.

PLEASE stop the school name battles! It's boring. If nobody calls you "Louisiana," talk to your marketing department. They failed, not the people who still call you "Lafayette." At least nobody calls you SW Louisiana anymore.

PS -- General Lafayette was a great hero of the American Revolution. His name is nothing to be ashamed of.

I only looked because the thread is called "2012 Football Season." Believe me, had the subject line said "ULL vs. Lafayette vs. Louisiana Smackdown," I would have simply marked the thread as read and moved on.
