Aggies did it right! IMHO.
Formed a human barricade to stop the Westboro Baptist planned protest at a fallen soldier's funeral. See Story. Gotta give the Aggies kudo's for this one!

RE: Aggies did it right! IMHO.
Well done, indeed!
What I don't get is why the Westboro folks think what they are doing is the Christian thing to do, or reflects Christian values. In WWJD terms, exactly WHAT did Jesus ever do to suggest that he would have taken part in their actions, or supported them?
I grew up in a pretty Bible Belt environment, and I don't ever remember being taught that the homosexual lifestyle was the source of all damnation. It probably wasn't one that you wanted to choose, but there were a lot worse choices. We had at least one openly gay member of our church youth group, and we took very much a live-and-let-live attitude toward him. I just don't remember the venom that we see today. Our approach was more, "Love the sinner, forgive the sin."

So the homosexual lifestyle is a choice and a sin?

I saw an interview with one of the Westboro officials. She admitted the "protests" were mainly to get publicity for the church. But I can't imagine what they think they are gainning.

to members of the wbc and many like them, yes. thats actually the point Owl is making. even if you assume that it is a choice and a sin, wwjd? he certainly wouldnt cast stones.

A couple of years ago these dipsticks showed up in Atlanta to protest some Jewish community events. They even protested a HighSchool that allowed same sex dates to the Prom.
These "people" hate just for the hell of it. No reason behind their actions at all except for media exposure
