Watch out...La Tech is also laying claim to being part of that discovery.

In the meantime, ULM's Pharmacy School has been granted at least three patents involving markers and treatments for breast and prostate cancer.

Fact of the matter is that all the Sun Belt schools are doing great things regarding the sciences. Not bad at all.

RE: Higgs Bosun discovery
Scientists from 89 US Universities, in some shape or form aided this discovery.
Quote:Three of FIU’s physics professors – Jorge L. Rodriguez, Pete E.C. Markowitz and Stephan Linn – and their students helped design, build and operate the LHC accelerator with the Compact Muons Solenoid (CMS) experiment.
FIU scientists help find new particle

With the scale of this project, this was obviously a "discovery by committee".

a big project to be sure...the uta team worked on the Atlas hadronic calorimeter measuring the energy of the particles..it is ironic that these teams were originally going to be doing the work here in the DFW area until construction of the Super collider was cancelled after the gov. bought the land and displaced all the property owners and spent 2 bil $ digging a 15 mile hole underground...

I don't know mbelcher, I thought the Castanza reference was pretty freakin' funny. Made me laugh. Your Futurama comeback is good too, althought I've seen it before.
