I noticed the front row is elevated... is that for better sight lines or are yall putting in suits under the bleachers (ala Cowboys Stadium (Jerryworld))?

Good catch, FIU has hosted the Gold Cup 2 x's since the stadium opened and the bigger offset makes the pitch FIFA compliant in order for us to continue to host the tournament in the future.

As FIU Panther Fan correctly wrote, the soccer team benches will be under those stands.

Yup, which is probably why we went with it. During the summer the stuff grows so fast you need to cut it once a week or it gets out of control.

Not sure why FIU went with Turf since they have the same conditions, again other then its relatively maintenance free.

Ahhhh, Life in a Tropical Rain climate. 03-cloud9

i thought there might be a dearth of landscapers around fiu. hence. fake grass.

we use fake grass because the augusts are brutal and one bad september rain on a saturday can mud bowl a field. we had grass forever though and western kept it pretty nice.

Well my friend y'all may live in the Twilight Zone around Orlando... but we are grounded in reality here in Looziana.. I can easily see us 2-0 going into Ok St.

I think that the Troy vs. Louisiana game will be the premier meeting of the Sun Belt Conference football schedule this season. nothing against stAte, because I expect our match-up with yall to be special, but the Cajuns got cocky quick last season and we need to knock them down a peg this year. 03-thumbsup

Funny how quickly folks around here forget after just one down year by the Trojans, that the color Cardinal rules the roost in SBC-land. 05-stirthepot

edit: props to WKU too, yall have really come on strong as of late. much respect.

Greg, HUD took a team of Bustles players and ran thru the league.. He is one of the top two coaches in the league right now. Nothing cocky about that...The Troy game will be a good one, but you will see 35K + at home for stAte, FIU and WKY.. Thos will be the marquee games in the league this year.

Ah Z, I'm just messing around man. You know how I do. 04-cheers

I fully expect Troy, Louisiana, stAte, FIU, and WKU to be fighting for first. Those games will all be the big in-Confernce draws for everyone this year. Obviously I expect the Trojans to win the league, but it's great that we now have so many teams that we can brag about and discuss winning the title. That simply wasn't the case just 2 seasons ago.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you must be thinking of ASU. I don't think going 6-2 in conference play is considered "running thru the league" when you've got a team that managed to go 8-0 the same year.

Right, UL did not "run through the league", they finished third in the league ... call me back when you've got an outright title under your belt, then you've "ran through the league." Hud's 84th ranked defense won't cut it. Great season nonetheless. 04-cheers

Let me throw my $.02 in here if I may. I am going on record as saying Lamar will NOT beat Louisiana at Lafayette this year or for many years to come. Now, that's going out on a limb, folks.

They wont beat Louisiana in Lafayette... since we wont ever travel to Beaumont...we dont have to worry about that either..

PS just correcting your grammar.

Congratulations... so did everyone else (sorry MTSU/FAU).

You got stomped my OSU (can't blame you honestly), had to kick a last second FG to beat FAU at home, yes you beat TROY down, then you got beat down by WKU, had to score two TD's in the final few minutes to beat ULM, lost to ASU, then lost to a not very good Arizona team, then you had to kick an unbelievable FG to win in the bowl game.

It doesn't really look like yall ran through much (other than TROY, NT, and MT).

Congratulations, you had a very good season, but to act like you dominated your schedual including the SBC last season is a joke.

So very true...of last season. Chances are that won't be the case this season.

My apologies beforehand.
