100% in agreement. Looking forward to seeing the fireworks and hearing those cannons sounding off...#Corey4Heisman
Got a video I'm uploading within the next hour, stay tuned. It's a half day's work, so its unpolished, but I think you guys will like it.
Highlight video!?!
#3 is Eric Thomas (875 yards last season, 9TDs)
#8 is Chip Reeves (515 yards, 7TDs in 2010, long of 79 yards)
#14 is Jamal Johnson (258 yards, 3TDs in 2010, wish I had more footage of him)
#20 is Shawn Southward (Sunbelt Conference Freshman of the Year, 2009)

Naw, I got the footage from two youtube videos. I don't have access to high quality footage, unfortunately.
FYI, if anyone is wondering, the opening was all done in Adobe After Effects. The mountains were a JPEG from Lord of the Rings (mistymountains.jpeg) that I cut into three parts in photoshop and placed them in Z space (depth), if that makes any sense. I got the idea from a Warner Brothers intro from one of the Harry Potter movies. I also plan on putting a sunbelt logo around the sun, that was the original idea, I just never got around to it.
Thanks for the compliment, bud.

I really hope they add another SBC logo to the field. It looked weird with just one out there. I'm stoked for the new field, thanks for the pics TroyFootball05!!!!

"Veterans Memorial Stadium will be the third Sun Belt Conference venue to receive the state-of-the-art playing surface joining Louisiana-Lafayette's Cajun Field and South Alabama's Ladd-Peebles Stadium."
"ProGrass Blend consists of 100 percent polyethylene fibers, that are 50 percent monofilament and 50 percent parallel slit, that are tufted into a woven multi-layer backing. The surface will contain a sand and rubber infill system that consists of 100 percent polyethylene fibers tufted into a woven primary backing with a secondary backing of polyurethane. The infill is a homogenous mixture of washed silica sand and ambient ground recycled crumb rubber."
So... South and UL, what do you think about your playing surface? Has it held up well over the years? Has the color of the field faded over the years?

I say for the debut of the new turf or when they play Mississippi State, Troy needs to change it up and get some black uni's or something to kinda get everyone excited. I know it will be exciting because it's an SEC school, but still it would be pretty cool to see. Thoughts?
We host several high school football games at FIU Stadium and it would beat up a grass surface. By the way, the enclosed framework is up and the bleachers are going up on the North Side of the stadium...

Yup, which is probably why we went with it. During the summer the stuff grows so fast you need to cut it once a week or it gets out of control.
Not sure why FIU went with Turf since they have the same conditions, again other then its relatively maintenance free.
Ahhhh, Life in a Tropical Rain climate.
