FIU lands LSU transfer, RB Jakhari Gore
Just reported by Miami Herald columnist that former Rivals 4-star Miami Columbus High School running back, Jakhari Gore, is enrolled and has transferred to FIU from LSU. He will sit out the 2012 season and be eligible for the 2013 season.

Rated as the nation's #6 all purpose back coming out of high school, and Florida's overall #30 rated player by Rivals in 2010, he rushed for over 1,800 yards with 29 TD's as a senior at Columbus. The Super Prep All American originally picked LSU over offers from Cal, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee, among others.

He should be a real good back in CUSA, as fas as the Belt, he would be 'ok' I guess. Maybe!!

Nice pickup.

Must be nice to be LSU and just drop top running back recruits every other year and reload with two more the next signing day. Drayton Calhoun has a similar bio and becomes eligible for the Blue Raiders this fall.

I'm sure it happens at many major schools. They get so many 4 and 5-star recurits; and someone is not going to see the field!
We have had this discussion many times on the Cajun board about "local" players signing with LSU; then not getting to play, when they could have played for, and potentially starred for us (or other LA schools for that matter). But it is tough to recruit against LSU (in particular) in Louisiana.

I guess most of these type players end up at lower level schools or Troy, after leaving the big-time behind, ASU sure has nerver gotten many .

Must take the starch out of them to do so, because my impression is most don't seem to pan out after they move on.

I do think with Dyer being an all SEC player and Qku, torching the SEC returning punts and kickoffs as a freshman, ASU may feel they have proven commodities, but just have to wait and see.
