That is possibly the worst idea ever. ECU basketball sucks so bad they should be in the Sun Belt and USM has only made the NCAA's a couple of times in the last 25 years, and never won there.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

Ironically could say the same thing about Memphis' football program. The Big East has all it needs in basketball and then some.

ECU sucks in football and basketball. What's your point?

Big market goes nice with Houston and SMU. I think a nice uptick in money and a new sense of pride could get them back to respectability. Remember that Tulane should have been the first BCS buster. They have history and fit our urban makeup.

Look out for UTSA in 5 years or less. Not kidding. They are taking the same path as USF. They averaged 36K fans a game last year.

You may be right---but those attendence numbers could be misleading. Lots of cheap free ticket promotions. We will know more over the next few years. A big city with no pro competition--- they could do very well.

They were offering free tickets if you bought a bucket of fried chicken, I would wait a couple years on them.

No, the current UK coach cheats in basketball to be good.

Josh runs a clean program. And he still kicks your arses.

Lol. That was way overblown by certain CuSA naysayers. The truth is that was for one section in the upper deck of 65k Alamodome. When u have a 65k stadium who cares if u gave away a few cheap tickets in the upper reaches of the 3rd deck. They have good season ticket numbers and any team that can 57k for a game has potential.

There weren't "lots" free ticket promotions. That KFC deal was for one section in 3rd deck of alamodome.

Poor choice of words on my part. It was the only "free" promotion. There were lots of "reduced price" ticket promotions. I think they will do well---but I am skeptical that last years numbers are a true baseline for ticket sale. Like I said, in a few years we will know more. If those number hold up then CUSA may have landed a sleeper.

UMass has a LOT more upside than the C-USA leftovers.

The only CUSA team with any upside is ODU. Give them a few years at the FBS level and then we can move them up.

Hey Ya gotta do whatever it takes to spark fan interest. Back in the early 1970's UL gave away tickets at convient stores with a purchase under Lee Corso and Vince Gibson playing in an old Baseball stadium .Some of those Younger ones became todays biggest supporters. We had to do Something with the SEC just 75 miles away, but even UK had a hard time filling Stoll Field , later adding Commonwealth stadium until Fran Curci came along. Great coach but off field issues wiped out any real momentum they had going forward.04-rock

I was just bustin their B@lls. If my team played in the Alamodome we would need strippers in the stands to fill the place up.

Our former Coach, Ron Cooper tried that at a Golfing fundraiser from what I remember which helped lead to his downfall 01-wingedeagle

You are conveniently forgetting that Memphis is probably the worst FBS football team in America. Charlotte doesn't even have a football team and they have more upside than Memphis.
