Fresno State running the spread sucks horse testicles. Hate it. Freaking hate it. Won't work, not the Bulldogs identity. Hate it.

So you're a Nebraska fan? If you're a realignment fan than csi board is where you need to be. There aren't many basis posters there. Even my arch enemy SJSUFan2010, knows Fresno is a good program. He had to start a whole thread about SJSU beating us for the 1st time in 20 years. The dude that runs the site frowns on new threads, just has conf threads mainly.
Not really a Nebraska fan- that move just triggered everything that we've seen here the last 25 months....

I think Fresno is a good program. I just think they are overrated for what they actually achieved. Probably a bit just what happened in 2 of the last 5 years in Pat Hill's tenure.... It literally floored me when I looked and they only had 1 end of season top 25 finish.

Kind of curious, what happened after they lost to USC? It just seems the program NEVER bounced back from that game. Like I said, 40-41 in their games after that game.
Pat Hill's problem is he always geared the team up to play big name schools and didn't do the same for conf games or lesser games. The Bowls we lost to NIU, CSU, Wyo we probably would have won if they had the name Texas Tech, Michigan St., Washington. They got a premature bid to the Liberty Bowl and lost all our games(conf) going into it then Tulsa(not a big name finished us. But really no matter who we had at coach it would be hard to beat out BSU every/most years for the title. This is another reason I don't mind BSU in the BE. I hope Fresno can win some titles in the MWC and then if the BE needs to fill a hole and AFA says no we go. Problem w/ that is BSU (thorn in our side) is there.

We'll see how fast the A&M guy can change our offense and turn things around. Phil Steele and War Torn seem to think it's right away. Being here it's hard to go from a run heavy Off to the spread, just like that w/ the wrong parts. We ran a lot in the Sweeney days even so it's a long time of doing something a different way.

Is it going to be similar to what happened at Michigan then with folks that were loyal to that run heavy off wound up undermining RR and his spread?

Yeah, Boise has been a thorn in a lot of folks sides lately. This year will be very interesting to watch with them.

Pretty much w/o the quick firing. So we'll see if in 3 years, if he's done anything to make us say okay, the spread works here, let's keep moving this direction. But when your top WR gets dropped to 3rd string and transfers to Oklahoma, it makes you wonder. Not good enough for Fresno, but good enough for OU? WTF!

is the talent anywhere near capable of running the spread? It sounds like square peg round hole type of situation....

That's wild with the top wr leaving.

brutal schedule this year with Oregon, Colorado, Tulsa, SDSU, and Boise all within a 6 week period(and to be fair add Wyoming in 7th week).

I don't know, I imagine this year won't be pretty. We'll see who he brings in w/ recruiting after that. Plus I want to see if he can keep a lot the central valley players, which was what we've done in the past. Our high school section spans 2.5 hrs south of Fresno into Bakersfield, Arvin, into the mountains w/ Yosemite and Sierra, and 1.5 hrs Northwest of Fresno w/ Dos Palos. Plus we usually did a decent job of landing players in the Sac/Joaquin section w/ Merced, Modesto, Sac kids. Clovis usually has the best players but a lot of them go to Pac 12 schools.
