New Big East still is facing a rocky and unstable future.
With Boise and San Diego possibly not coming, I believe the Big East could soon experience even more turmoil.
Then there is the ACC rumor concernung Notre Dame and Louisville. This rumor could force the Big 12 hands.
Even if Louisville stands would Navy still come with Boise and SDSU backing out?
The Big East could be back to 10 teams without Navy, Boise and SDSU?
Would the BE add ECU and Southern Miss at this point? Or could it be UMass and Buaffalo?
None of this is very promising.

RE: New Big East still is facing a rocky and unstable future.
I really have no clue what will happen now. The AQ going away with the Power 4 and maybe the ACC added throws the BSU, SDSU thing to the ground. Will they get back up and stay? 50/50 chance, then add Fresno this week. I don't get the feeling the 12 or the ACC are making any moves this Year now. The ND thing kinda took everone by surprise or design. Funny how one program can Ice down previous plans in an instant. If UL goes to the 12 I would prefer to go with UC, FSU, Clemson/GT to give 14 schools.
That would give a stronger ratings accepted eastern addition.but that combo is probably out the window.
ACC would be a long shot but within reach if We improve the Academic ratio which is hard to do having a fairly large commuter base that also work full time. Our sports would always be in the Upper tier of that league. really a near perfect fit. If ND came in, The ACC could no longer use the States touch the Atlantic coast unless They say the Great lakes are made up of water from the Atlantic. but same for the Ohio River water.
Most likely option if BSU/ SDSU bail would be to grab USM and ECU as both are the most promising programs available and would surprise the Naysayers in the Beast. Might not be a top 4 conference but it would be a fun conference with great tailgating and Fan travel. at least the Former CUSA programs are the best ones with no dead weight. could be interesting

MWC appears to be left out. Boise will have no choice but to come to the Big East same can be said for BYU. It is going to get interesting. Now does the B12 and ACC add more teams?

Wilkie...I have nothing against the new schools so if any of them read this it is NOT a shot @ them but I WANT OUT!!!! of this league now.
Not because of the makeup of the league but because of the "TOTAL LACK OF LEADERSHIP"!!!!.

Agree ! New and old Schools are really fine, but leadership is like the punks in the ragged out Nova "mooning You as they pass by".

Well if today's reports are true, big 12 staying at 10 (Stupid), and BSU backing out of Big East, put the USM, ECU call in or if for some reason SDSU stays, add Fresno and get on with the season and the Smackdown on UK. Maybe a break will happen yet but looks like we're here in '14.

If we are in the nBe then the league needs to pull out "EVERYTHING" to get BYU. If they do that then the league has become salvageable and more attractive to more higher $$$$$ bowls.

Agree, but I think if BYU were coming, We should be having a lot more Smoke Signals by now. My guess is Fresno. But I have been wrong before.

We don't need BYU if they are going to play their games. Same terms as everyone else or they can continue to "enjoy life" (i.e. those home-and-homes vs. NMSU and Idaho) as an indy.

Yes, the unknow is the worst. Actually BYU, Cincinnati, Boise, Louisville, South Florida, and Rutgers will be a good bunch of football. I supect Houston and Central Florida will bring it also. School is still out on San Diego, UConn, Memphis, Temple, Navy and SMU.
