The only good thing about this horrible time is that it wont be trashed and full of locals in the morning. I'll be glad to be out of there by the time the Tuskegee vs Alabama A&M crowd gets there.

where do I start?

should I laugh at your OMG black people comment or explain to you that A&M fans usually tailgate the Magic City Classic for like 3 days before and probably will for this one too.

Their fans probably will show up early and enter our game too. It'll be the only FBS game going on in the state that day. UA and AU are at away/ neutral site games that night, which might have something to do with the time slot.

We're actually discussing on Blazertalk how this exactly is going to work raising some of the same questions. We are sold season tailgate spots and are kinda hoping that our tailgating spots are different than theirs. especially how they'd hate to show up and not have the tailgate spot that they've prepaid for.

Sold annual tailgate spots? Dang that sucks, but I guess Troy is a special place...we tailgate all over our traditional styled campus on gameday.

Is Legion Grass or Turf?

If Grass the good thing about being the early game is that the field will be in good shape which should hold down on injuries and "quirky" bounces.

I thank the Lord every day this year for UAB. Without them FAU is 0-12 last year.

03-lmfao I heard that. Everyone loves to see UAB on their football schedule, players need a gimmie to rest their boys from time to time.

Maybe if you'd kinda fill us in on exactly what you mean by this comment and it may stop the snap judgments...I'm interested.

Has anyone sat in Legion Field during an early game...on the visitors' side...with the sun "beaming down" on you? I, personally, detest it, but I'll be there, HBCU fans or no...

mbelcher, why do you continue to use that game as smack? Weren't the officials "let go" by C-USA after that massively biased-called game? If you're going to talk smack, you should use a game that is not as widely disputed as that one was.

I know UAB football fans don't have a lot of be proud of, but c'mon. Not only was the officiating famously biased, but the reasoning for the call not being overturned further shows how lousy UAB ahtletics funding is. Yall only had ONE replay camera in the entire stadium...on the opposite end of the field. 03-lmfao

AL.com reposted an article from our Beat Writer from 3 months ago, He's being let go because of budget shortcomings and the birmingham news being an idiotic run newspaper. NewOrleans is also dealing with the same issue. I really meant to do that as a comment, instead of a new post...

They were let go later that year because of a different bad game. CUSA officials looked at the calls and found nothing strange about our game. In spite of what GTT claimed later that year.

P.s. your are game 1 of the Garrick Mcgee era. Until that game is over, you are the only game that matters. After losing to you last year in the last 5 minutes on a play that should have never happened I am a wee bit angry. I was there, due to injuries with the starting QB and RB we had to start 2 backups.

And again Birmingham Park and Rec Board is in charge of cameras and facilities not UAB. Send your complaints to them and Paul Bryant Jr.

RE: Hey Troy fans
Yall started 2 backups, we had our worst season in school history. We still won. Our entire WR corps was young and not one had ever started a game prior to the season. So no excuses can be made from either side about players lacking experience being the reason for a loss.

You like to talk smack about the win at Legion Field like it was some great victory where yall blew us out and thus we deserve ridicule, when the truth is it is still a controversial ending people continue to debate. If you want to talk smack pick a better game, because outside of your own fanbase, few believe yall rightfully won that one.

The officials being let go later that season after yet another lousy game proves they were a crappy crew. Home cooking gave the Blazers that game, plain and simple. They loaded Troy up with bs penalties in the second half then gave yall a TD when the fella caught the pass sitting on his butt on the 1 yard line, thus he was down on the 1 when he caught the ball. I've heard all sorts of bs like, he was falling backwards or whatever, but the rules state the ball is down where the player is down when it is caught, which means the 1.

If yall would stop referencing the win as something worth bragging about Troy fans would let things go, but yall won't so we won't.

We had the worst head coach in NCAA history. We had 5 wr's and our best TE graduate the season before too. Only 1 WR had any experience.

It was a great comeback, you do understand that right? Thats why it was a big deal. We were down 20+ points at the half and came back and won it. Outside of your fanbase no one thinks you guys won that game. what's your point?

I think it's great. It's an oversized reserve parking place that is mine. We have a seperate gate as well. If something comes up and I'm running late I know I have my spot available. It would still be worth the extra cost even if I didn't tailgate.

Well to each his own. I like how we do it at Troy, where everyone tailgates on campus under the trees and in the grass (for free). We all line University Ave with our tents and grills and 2 hours before the game, Trojan Walk comes right down the middle of where everyone is set up. It's a very traditional Southern campus way of doing things.

Of course, I don't like the urban campus atmosphere anyways, it just doesn't feel like a college enviroment to me. I prefer the true college town campus style like Troy, Auburn, and Alabama offer.
