Is the debt service on FAU's stadium really so high that it will hamper FAU's budget?

I dont think so, but to be honest I am not 100% sure.

FAU has it figured out that if they have 12,000 tickets sold per game they will "break even". Thats not including student attendance since thier admission is paid by tuition.

So the answer to FAU's stadium debt service is to put butts in the seats. We have hired a new group to head the Ticket program (The Aspire Group) and Coach Pelini has a tickets sold bonus built into his contract.

FAUs debt survive is 2.5 million. but when you only sell 10K tickets majority at $135 for season; you have to play 2 money games a year. My friend works for the loaning bank and needless to say they are worried about FAUs ability to pay. With 2 money games they can pay but that leaves little to add to OOC games which help sell season tickets... its a catch 22 situation.

Agree, but it had to be done.

FAU's program simply could NOT continue to play in Lockhart. It was the worst stadium in FBS and perhaps even in FCS.

Winning cures a whole lot of ills on the attendance front. We have to have faith that coach Pelini will get us back on track.

That's the point and is probably a big reason as to why FAU only received a cursory look from C-USA. It has also lead to the firing of the long-time AD and a lot of consternation from the FAU President and B.O.D.'s.

If you lose, you can't recruit. If you can't recruit, you've got to play money games. If you play money games, the crowds won't come. If the crowds don't come, you deplete your general fund and raise fees to pay your debt. And if you raise your fees and increase your tuition you have trouble growing your student body.

FAU's on the bottom of the Sun Belt and don't think it can't get any worse....USA and Ga. State are coming.

It could get worse for FAU if the Owls were to start losing to FIU.

From a demographics standpoint, Palm Beach County and the surrounding area (FAU) has much less of a Latin make-up than Miami-Dade, two counties south of FAU.

He did not name FAU so no violation but nice try. Just said stadium, everything else is public knowledge.

WHAT? First, you are basically stating a very, very, very, well known fact. Yes, Miami-Dade County has a huge hispanic population. Second, Miami-Dade is separated from FAU by only ONE county, not two as you mention. That county being Broward County. Third, and most important, how do these facts add anything to the thread?. Do these facts prove anything? Do they make your point (not that you have one.. but)? Do these facts suggest that FAU has a better stadium because Palm Beach County has less "Latins?" Are you arguing that FAU will be better in the long term because there are more non-hispanic whites? Are you arguing that FIU will have the best college baseball next year because of all the hispanics? Same with soccer? Obviously, these points have all been shown to be incorrect in very recent history. So what are you stating?

I think, 'FIUtheproud, that he is answering legitimally a question asked by someone else earlier in this thread, if I remember correctly. However, you are right, he is wrong in counting counties between Palm Beach and Miami Dade. Also wrong.... last game's score: FIU won 41-7.

Thanks FIUFanatic. If that's the case, then I apologize. But next time he should "respond" to the question. This will avoid valid comments from looking absolutely weird, vague, irrelevant, or plain 'ol stupid.

It was actually a quite simple program offered by WKU as a Master's degree. It's usually a two-year program, but as an FIU graduate I was able to complete it in two weeks! But don't tell anyone.03-shhhh
