Interesting QB situation we'll have this fall
We'll have Blake Bortles and Tyler Gabbert as the #1 and #2 quarterbacks. We'll also have Jeff Godfrey, who was the starting quarterback all of last season. To top it off, we'll have Rob Calabrese, who was the starting quarterback part of the time from 2008 until the beginning of the 2010 season when Godfrey came along. Sure, we can use Godfrey or Calabrese in the Wild Knight formation, but it will be interesting to see if O'Leary and his staff decide to throw in a little trickery where either Godfrey or Calabrese line up as a receiver but end up passing the ball.

He was accepted back on the team as a wide receiver. He never transferred to FAU.

The interesting part will be Bortles/Gabbert and that's about it. Godfrey will be a WR primarily with an option for interesting QB/wildcat packages and ditto for Calabrese. I guess Calabrese would be more an emergency 3rd QB too.

But I don't think anyone but the former two have a shot at significant and dedicated QB playing time - barring injury catastrophe.

Bortles/Gabbert will be interesting, though. I wonder if Bortles has a solid hold on the top spot. If he makes a several mistakes and the offense sputters, I could see him getting pulled by conference play. Would JG be back in the mix in that scenario?

I think if George knew what he was doing, he would not allow Godfrey to compete for a depth chart spot as QB.

That said, O'Leary probably would allow it. He isn't that bright.
