Apparently Big Blue is getting a 7 foot tall bronze statue made of him that will stand in the front of the Webb Center. Don't know when it'll be unveiled though...

I love statues, they can make a campus look more prestigious but I kinda question the placement. Blue is awesome but to put the statue next to the lion fountain? How about in front of one of the entrances to Forman or in front of the Ted. He is a sports hype man after all.

I imagine that placing the statue indoors (as per the article) will cut down on potential statue maintenance costs. However, I agree that it should be placed somewhere related to sports. Indoors at the Ted might be an acceptable compromise, but I'd like a spot at Foreman Field even better.

I say move the thing to where ever a game is being played on a given day. That way we can all high five it on our way in. heh.

I say keep him indoors. There are too many haters that would deface him.
