I know I haven't been posting much lately but what's with all this Troy vs UNT fire? Shouldn't we be hating Middle and South fans?

Not saying yall wernt better back then but the SBC was SOO much weaker back in the early 00's. Also you guys had a losing record going into a bowl one year...
I gert so sick of people like you thrown out this "back then" stuff. If you'll bother to check UNT had a top 10 defensive unit in 2002. With an OC schedule of Texas, Alabama, TCU, Arizona & USF gave up an average of only 14.77 points. In 2003 with an OC schedule of Oklahoma, Air Force, Baylor & Arkansas gave up an average on only 21.92 points. I'd put the 2002 and 2003 UNT defensive teams up against any of the teams that Troy has fielded in the Belt.
Have you forgotten I believe it was 2004 Troy had the #4 Ranked Defense in the Country? And that was our 1st year in D1!
Troy went 1A in 2002 not 2004. I'd still put our 2003 & 2004 defense up against any defense Troy has fielded in the Belt. In 2004 Troy gave up an average of 16.67 points vs the 14.77 that UNT gave up in 2002.
In 2004 Troy played a 6-6 Marshall, 5-6 Missouri, 6-5 S. Carolina & 9-3 LSU.
In 2002 UNT played an 11-2 Texas, 10-3 Alabama, 10-2 TCU, 9-2 UCF, 4-8 Arizona.
In 2003 UNT played a 12-2 Oklahoma, 9-4 Arkansas, 7-5 Air Force and a 3-9 Baylor.
Troy may have had some good teams, but so has UNT.
Troy could not qualify for a Bowl till 2004....02 and 03 were transition years.

I'm okay with the Top 3, but this guy is nuts to think that stAte won't be contending for a top spot this season.
