The Tim Brando Show
I was watching the show today, and noticed that Brandon has not one but two ULM helmets decorating his set. He has lots of stuff, but two ULM helmets? What's up with that?

Sorry for the error. I need to pay more attention when I type. I didn't know the guy was from ULM.

It really surprised me the first time I heard words come out of Jim Rome's mouth because they were very, very stupid.

Brando rocks my socks though.

RE: The Tim Brando Show
Rome has a tried and true method. He often plays to the LCD and he's very polarizing. I think it's funny that he takes pride in the fact that a lot of people hate his show, but those who love it are very loyal. I'm one of the few that are actually in the middle ground. When it used to play daily in Murfreesboro, I'd listen, I found it mildly entertaining, but I rarely found the content deep or thought provoking. Having said that, I didn't even know he was syndicated in Atlanta until I just searched it(and I've been living here for two years) I suppose because he doesn't play on either one of the primary sports talk stations in the city. I haven't missed it one bit.

As far as nationally syndicated shows go, I like Cowherd.

Cowherd is pretty good. I use to listen to him quite a bit back when I had a radio that could pick up more than one station.

Tim usually changes out the helmets that are directly behind him between commercial breaks (not always but often enough). He keeps one ULM helmet in a permanent spot off to the side when there's a side camera shot and brings in the other ULM helmet whenever the subject is about the Warhawks, like when he interviews one of the coaches.

He didn't graduate from ULM (he and I were freshmen together) but from LSU because of class requirements...another story. However, he considers ULM to be "his" school and often attends some sporting events and functions. His fondest memories of college are in Monroe.

But he doesn't play favorites on his show. He loves sports, especially ALL college sports and he shows that every day.

I'm in the pro-Rome camp. I also can't stand Cowherd. I like the off the board stuff that Rome does.

Cowherd is a bit of an oddball and has some serious man crushes(Brady) but I think he has one of the more honest and logical outlooks on sports that you'll find in nationally syndicated radio.

I like his show and he's consistently fair and doesn't get into the shock jock crapola. I watch his show for information and sports opinion from its long line of guests. I watch Rome every now and then strictly for entertainment.

although i disagree with cowherd on some stuff (he'd be happy with a big 64 and forget about anyone else) i agree with him on way more than anyone else on the radio.

rome is a tool. he does understand his base (think of patton oswalt in 'big fan'.....a loser that sits around composing rants) and plays to them. never have liked him.

cowherd looks like the biggest goober in the world.

You summed it up well, the thing is this, if I weren't a fan of a non-AQ, I probably wouldn't care if we went to a big 64 either. While I disagree with Colin on college football often, I think he makes solid arguments. In the grand scheme of things, what do we matter? The only reason the big 64 won't happen is because of logistics.

I agree that Brando is pretty unbiased and fair in his reporting. I like his show.
