Bid with Big Green on chance to attend the Team USA Experience
[Image: aaa%20team-usa-auction-graphic-608.jpg]

Quote:The Big Green Scholarship Foundation -- with a large thanks to Marshall University basketball legend Mike D'Antoni -- is offering for auction the Team USA Experience with D'Antoni and the men's basketball team that will represent the United States in the London Olympics this summer.

The successful bid will go toward Marshall University's ongoing Vision Campaign in athletics to raise funds for the new athletic facilities, including a soccer stadium, and an indoor practice facility for all sports.

The Team USA Experience -- a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all basketball fans -- is scheduled July 11-12 in Las Vegas, where Team USA will be holding workouts to prepare for the Olympics.

D'Antoni, a former Herd star guard and NBA coach, is an assistant coach with the U.S. team, where the roster includes NBA stars LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.

Quote:Bids must be placed between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., and bidding will end on Tuesday, June 12, at 5 p.m.

The opening bid will start at $5,000. Bids will only be accepted in $1,000 increments.

Bids may only be placed by calling Travis Epling, MU's assistant director of athletic development, at 304-696-3385. The current highest bid will be displayed on HerdZone.com.

If I had 10-15K to burn I'd probably take a crack at it. Should be a great experience for whom ever whens.

Same here. I just don't have 20,000 to play with. If I did I might bid.

I HERD that they were hoping to get around $100,000. Unlikely IMO. It is awesome though.
