(06-06-2012 08:19 AM)Machiavelli Wrote:  1. If the 54-46 margin is a butt kicking. What was the 63-37 overturn of SB 5 in Ohio then? Just wondering?

Context matters: Walker did better in this election than he did in the general.. Given the amount of crowing that you guys did when this recall mess started the spin is impressive.

Quote:2. Walker didn't go after police or fireman this time. Ohio's did. 38% of union households went for Walker. You would think that these union households could read the tea leaves. The very next day Forbes has an article putting them in their sights.

Stop lumping government worker unions with private sector unions..

Quote:3. Pawns are being moved. Take away unions from the Citizens United case. You just have corporations. Walker outspent Barrett by an UNGODLY sum. Something like 7 to 1. This "should" be troubling to all.

When Obama raises a trillion dollars with Bono concerts and Clooney money well see how much one guy out spending the other matters to you..

Quote:4. Now this is just my opinion. I would think Teacher Unions would be very concillatory in negotiations going forward. In Ohio we can still collectively bargain.

If they had been on things like health care providers and retirement / health care contributions this whole thing could have been avoided.

Quote:5. I still can't get over the fact the fireman and police abandoned the teacher's in Wi. If they just put teacher's on the firing line in Ohio it wouldn't have been 63-37.

Because people generally accept that a cops job is far more dangerous than a teachers. Unions do their best work when it comes to abuse of safety issues, not fighting over 1 or 5% contribution to your health care..

Police and Firefighters have a real ax to grind when it comes to safety and working conditions..

Quote:6. I am ABSOLUTELY PISSED at Obama for not helping out Barrett more.

But are you surprised?

Quote:7. Bull mentioned this and I'm really agreeing with this point. The recall was a flawed strategy.

You're spot on here, and reasonable. What walker did was not something worthy of a recall. They had the narrative to stomp in the November election and take back their state legislature, instead they wasted a lot of powder..

Quote:Maybe 10% of people voted for Walker because they didn't care for the "process" of recallls.

Sourced or just SWAG?

Obama broke monthly fundraising records in 2007-2008. Literally almost every month. McCain was the one (who in the end after some jockeying around the law) took the public finance of his campaign. Obama was the one who rejected it and raised around a billion. He outspent McCain, so effin what. People can throw their money behind who they want. It's called freedom.

Do you have proof that ANY of them ACTUALLY voted(including the dumb*** in the video)? Didn't think so.

There are numerous witness accounts of buses with out of state plates all over the f'n internet, fool. Besides, I don't need to do your work for you. You don't want to believe anything that goes against your own agenda anyway.

It's not that impressive considering the 7-1 margin he outspent the opposition.

Quote:Stop lumping government worker unions with private sector unions..

I'm lumping in all unions. It's divide and conquer. If they go after the police and fireman. Walker is recalled. Don't think for a second that that message isn't being hashed out behind closed doors. Take out the teacher's first. Deal with the other public sector unions later.

Quote:When Obama raises a trillion dollars with Bono concerts and Clooney money well see how much one guy out spending the other matters to you..

What planet are you on? That's all we need to do then for the deficit then. Have Bono and Clooney throw 15 bashes. Corporations are decimating the field. Their message will drown out all others. The GOP will run unopposed. The Citizens United case MUST be overturned.

Quote:Because people generally accept that a cops job is far more dangerous than a teachers. Unions do their best work when it comes to abuse of safety issues, not fighting over 1 or 5% contribution to your health care..

Don't be so naive. It was teacher's today. It will be police and fireman tomorrow. Hell they were calling for it the day after in that one article.

Quote:Maybe 10% of people voted for Walker because they didn't care for the "process" of recallls.

This was from a talk show I was watching and the Walker campaign honed in to that electorate the last two weeks. It was in every speech. "We can't go and have a recall on every difficult vote".

Ok. Let us assume that these bus stories are true. Fine. How many of them got off the bus walked into a polling station and ACTUALLY voted?

If you still can't understand this, then you are a hopeless moron.

Had 119% of the actual registered voters last election, moron. You do the math. Well, at least try.

Liberals are reeling from their yesterday loses, today. Ominous rumblings of future loses in November.
