Im not Doc but I think Id take a chance on bringing new players up. Ive never heard of either one. Unless Doc thinks they will both imed. impact players with only one year to play is taking a big risk on not letting our young safties get game experience. One left for personal reasons the other was dismissed.

I think we'll have safeties by committee this year, So most should get decent playing time.

Are these guys any good?

won't know until august. But I believe one of them was set to start at BC before leaving the team

Meh, BC might be worse than Duke as far as ACC football goes. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in their transfers. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't see much potential there.

It's all about opportunity.

If anyone is wondering why Marshall would take a pair of graduate-transfer defensive backs from Boston College, that's the reason.

Sure, neither Dominick LeGrande nor Okechukwu Okoroha were members of the Eagles' football program during the 2011 season.

Okoroha was dismissed for disciplinary reasons during preseason camp in August 2011. Days later, LeGrande decided to transfer and left the program.

Both defensive backs stayed in school and graduated from Boston College. That allowed LeGrande and Okoroha to enroll in graduate school at Marshall and immediately be eligible to play for the Herd in 2012.

Bottom line?

Both defensive backs were looking for an opportunity to play -- not sit -- during their final year of football eligibility and Marshall was the place offering that opportunity.
