I honestly think they could have a breakout year one of these years. Granted there seems to be a log jam at the top with stAte, WKU, Louisiana, Troy, MTSU, and FIU so if there were more "down" teams it might be a greater possibility. Do you think there could be a chance or am I just talking crazy? (It wouldn't be the first time)

Your talking crazy...ULM always says they are the dark hourse EVERY year...have yet to see an winning season from them..

Good enough to whip, not just beat, Troy.

As a conference, we need to work on improving the number of OOC wins. Going 7-1 in conference , while impressive, it is easily overshadowed by 4 out of conference losses especially when one of those team plays in the FCS.

Those outside our conference look at a record like that and think "the teams aren't that good, all their win are in conference and its just a case that someone had to win".

If we pick up a few more OOC wins, I think our teams will become harder to ignore during bowl selection.

I agree. That win over Loiusville on ESPN, almost had FIU ranked in the top 25 and had TY Hilton in the early heisman talks. You Florida schools are all moving at a fast pace.

And then a first year coach, using the previous coaching staffs players came to Miami and laid the wood...

No matter the coach, FIU players continue to auditon for not sports with balls but instead the WWF. Oh and let's not forget go hire a has been coach retired in Florida. Ya, that's the ticket.

No Hilton, no titles.

Smack doesn't work if we can't understand what the hell you are talking about. Go rework those two sentences then get back to me.

We had TY last season and didn't win the title, so that logic doesn't hold.

31-36 is known as "laid the wood" in cajun country? So what do you guys call 38-17 which is what you lost by the year before, Z? 05-stirthepot

Call it what you want. All it takes is a dynamic coach. Remember, we beat the conference favorites on their home turf with the same players you pounded us with the year before... You come into the Swamp this year...A couple of recruiting classes under HUDs belt..One of the best offenses in the nation... It might get ugly for u. Good luck in CUSA.

I call it ancient history. Cajuns 7-2 all time vs FIU, and 2-2 in last four games, and 3-2 in the last five games including a 49-20 beat down just four years ago. So again ancient history with a lot going on.

WKU too high - they caught lightning in a bottle last year. They won't be sneaking up on anyone, especially without Rainey.

MT is too low. Team has too much talent to stay down long. Too much went wrong last year.

FIU should be higher, up there with ASU and UL as the top 3 in the conference.

I'd go:

1. ASU
2. FIU
3. UL
4. Troy
5. MT
6. ULM
7. NT

I don't know about WKU winning the conference, but their returning defense is too good for them to finish 8th in a 10 team SBC. I would be VERY surprised if the Toppers finish any worse than 4th or 5th; and I fully expect that they will be in the top 3. Also, FIU won't finish 2nd. Too many losses offensively, and their defense isn't good enough to stop the better offenses in the conference. PLUS, both FIU and UNT have big targets on their chests; every coach and player in the conference will be gunning for them to make sure they get a proper sendoff to CUSA as lower tier SBC teams. Not saying they'll lose every week, but they WILL be a target every week, and will get everyone's A game..

You had a great season. I'd be shocked if you finished below us, but....please win a non-conference game prior to getting too far ahead of yourself.

I recall us having the best D in the conference, and ULL being all O. Considering that we are returning almost all our starters on D, if we don't do well it certainly will not be because "our defense is not good enough".

I think you guys should be worried about your D. 'Cause if BG get hurt or shutdown it will be a long season.

8. WKU
9. FAU
10. USA

I beg to differ. We will win the Belt this year. 8th----HA HA HA

If BG gets hurt or shut down, we will plug in Terrence Broadway.. they are essentially interchangeable. I agree with you that our D should be a concern, and it is. But I am not worried about the offense at all, even if BG goes down.

I'd go:

1. ASU
2. FIU
3. UL
4. Troy
5. MT
6. ULM
7. NT
8. WKU

10. USA

VO from a talent level it won't be a drop off. He is a heck of a player, but let's just keep BG in the games. Never like to trade a known for an unknown. We do know Broadway has 1A experience, just saying I would rather see him in staring in 2013 and gaining time in 2012.

I agree completely, Express; I was just pointing out to the FIU guy that we do have a more than adequate replacement should BG be unable to play for whatever reason.

You find a quarterback none of us know about?

We still have the one that won 7 out of our last 8 games.
Losing only to the #1 team in the nation.
How did your starting QB do?
