[split] Apologizing in Advance for what Maryland is about to do...

This is something that members of the Big Sky (which Boise State was a member of when they installed the blue turf, and Eastern Washington ) and Southland (Central Arkansas) do as a gimmick to get their name out there. This isn;t something that major college programs need to do.
Maybe we're confusing Maryland and "major college (FB) program".

Well, they won a national title in the same decade as one of the football powers we added last expansion...so if that made that school a football power (according to the consensus of this board) then it makes Maryland one too.

Maryland claims many strengths and titles. "Football power" is not one of them.

Dude, you just cant live without taking swipes at fellow members and its getting old.
If you consider Clemson to be a national power, then so is Syracuse, because we have the same amount of national championships, and SU is ranked much higher than Clemson on the all time winning programs list. Syracuse should be back to its winning ways by the time we enter the ACC, and Clemson will regularly receive the type of whipping that you got the last time we played.
