It's easy to be tough on terrorists when you simply call anyone you kill a terrorist, regardless of whether or not that's true.

# of terrorist attacks on America's home soil in the first 3 years of a presidency.
Clinton: 2
Bush: 2
Obama: 0

Take your chance with a new president if you want to. We will get hit again. Cons hate facts.

You've miscounted.
You are correct. I thought McVey was 1996 and I forgot the anthrax attack. I fixed it.

You've still miscounted.

That's not a fact you imbecile, it's an opinion. A dumb one at that.

The only reason libs don't hate facts is because they don't know what facts are.

I think the next 4 years are going to be pretty dreadful, no matter who wins in November. I would anticipate multiple terrorist attacks, and at some point this smoke and mirrors economy has to come tumbling down. I admit I thought it would happen by now and it hasn't, but my reason for expecting it sooner is that I thought Obama would have enough of congressional majority for long enough to pass Cap-and-Trade (which I support at least conceptually, although it will hurt the economy short term, and I do prefer a carbon tax scheme), and Card-Check, and I thought Obamacare would be much more socialist than it turned out to be. The Blue Dogs are really the only reason that we haven't already cratered, and thank goodness for them.

Those are opinions, not facts, and I do know the difference.

Sadly I agree. I think we're in for a very tough road ahead, especially when Greece exits the Eurozone and Spain and Italy both tank completely.

Wow....just...wow.

We're in what people refer to as a global economy firm. That means what happens overseas will impact us here. It's impacting us now in many ways.

Spain and Greece don't have to be like us to impact our economy.

Go take an Econ 101 class, then come back and try and talk like a big boy.

Spain and Greece have almost no manufacturing capability. Their economy is also completely tied to other economies. Our currency is the world's standard. We can grow, drill, mine and produce anything that we need. Yes it is true that we are tied to global markets but those anchors are not large enough to sink us.

Any Collapse in Spain, Greece and Italy will send Europe into chaos financially. Close to 25% of US exports go to Europe. You do realize that if Europe is in financial crisis they stop buy our exports right? That's sort of how things work. And hopefully you realize that if they stop buy our exports that's less money here, which means production goes down, which means layoffs happen.

Would they "sink" us, no. But they'd hurt us very, very badly.

Not any more we can't.

And if Obama gets his way, we'll be taking giant steps away from ever getting that capability back.

You can have all the spirit you want, but when Obama makes it impossible for a US company to compete in global markets, I don't think many are going to stay around to run themselves into bankruptcy. And there are several proposals on his wish list that have the ability to do precisely that.

I'll ask my standard two questions for the left, that nobody has answered satisfactorily:

1. Let's assume hypothetically that I am looking to build a plant to manufacture a product for sale worldwide. The plant will cost $100 million to build and will employ 3,000 people. Why should I build it in the US? Assume whatever additional facts you need.

2. If you can't convince me to build it here, how does our economy recover?

RE: Obama the cyberterrorist
I've heard an interesting story told in various forms since 2008 that chemical weapons were supposedly brought into South America/Venezuela from the Middle East as part of a plot to smuggle them into the US.

The weapons got as far as Mexico when an informant inside one of the Cartels tipped the US off and the weapons were intercepted.

Haven't seen anything in the Media about it, except some bits and pieces about some US cross-border ops into Mexico, Drone Ops, etc.

firm I like ya but I just don't think you get the inter-connectivity that exists between our economy and Europe's. You don't just make up losing a huge chunk of 25% of your exports. If Spain, Italy and Greece go into the tank then it will have dramatic impacts to us.

Google it and read up.

Sure. 1) who in the world is going to buy the end product. Who has the money? Will the US create tariffs that make it more expense to sell in the US.
2) security. When you build this plant, is the govt going to be stable enough for you to produce goods that you will eventually sell to Americans?

I get it. However Europe is the #2 economy in the world and the distance between #1 and #2 is so great it won't hurt us. We just need to get on the same page and get away from the global markets.
