RE: Tech Support Thread
I downloaded chrome. Windows 9 seemed to be making me jump thru hoops.
Quick question though, how can I open multiple webpages? On IE, you can see the different webpages that you have open at the top and I can quickly toggle back and forth.
What am I missing with Chrome?

RE: Tech Support Thread
After 3 weeks, I finally took the plunge. I resisted change at first, but I am happy to report I am using Chrome full time now!

For the most part, I'm happy with it. I made the switch from Firefox sometime last year and it's pretty slick. Kinda like Firefox, the longer I use it the more memory it seems to hog - and supposedly Mozilla has improved those issues in the newest releases.
But I'm not in the mood to make another major browser switch again, so Chrome's where I'll be for the time being.

hogging memory? how is that corrected?
and, one last question. how do I open up all the programs that are currently running on my computer?

I'm not a programmer, so barely-educated statements follow...
Chrome loads each tab as a separate process - so when you open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del -> pick Task Manager) you'll see a boatload of Chrome.exe processes running. When you use a lot of tabs like I do (I usually have 10-25 open at any one time) they tend to take up a bit of RAM. On top of that, every plug-in (Shockwave, etc.) is also loaded as a separate process... so, basically, there's a lot of stuff running. I don't know how they fix it but I've heard they've changed some of the code in Firefox to better allocate/dump memory when not in use.
As to your second question, Task Manager will show you that information.

RE: Tech Support Thread
Thanks for the tips. I just opened up Task Manager. It might as well be written in Chinese. No clue what running programs are useless or needed. I recognized 2, that were from Quickbooks, that I installed 18 months ago but no longer use do to my small business needs.

RE: Tech Support Thread
Been running Chrome for just over 2 weeks. Have yet to have a problem! AND, it is crazy how many little things, or glitches, are removed.
For example, with IE, I could never open up the links on WMU's athletics page (the ones to the far right that have to be highlighted). Now I can! (I hope some high up Google exec reads this and pays me for the pimping!)

I hate Chrome. Has a decent Ad Block Plus plugin been created for it yet?

RE: Tech Support Thread
ok I have a help request. Just got new Moto X 2nd gen. Had a first gen Moto X and loved it. I migrated the data from one phone to the other, but the music I had on old phone didnt transfer. Then tried getting the music from my laptop, and syncing it to the new phone. It wont really sync though. I cant access my music using my phone, and cant figure out how to do so with the "play music" app. I read something about the new software, and new rules, and I Googled the issue, but have had no success.
Does anyone have any insight, and a real simple solution?

First question: do you have unlimited data?
