Sunbelt should continue taking the lead . . .
And consider forming a two division conference:

Eastern Division
App State
FAU
Ga Southern
Ga State
MTSU
South Alabama
Troy
Western Ky

Western Division
Ark State
Lamar
NMSU
TxState
UALR
ULL
ULM
UT Arlington

Great football rivalries possible within each Division. The ability to assist teams in the other division with scheduling alternate games, if needed. Winners of the two divisions would face each other in a FB Championship; travel costs would be drastically reduced, as well. UTA and UALR must restore/establish FB programs within a certain timeframe to make this work.

A much stronger basketball conference with addition of NMSU and Lamar; baseball also made better by Lamar's presence.

Just why, panama? Please give me (and all the others who have also proposed some worthy alternatives) good reasons why the Sun Belt shouldn't continue to maximize it's position - and one-up the CUSA - rather than just saying "let it go". (I'm making suggestions as a way to ensure that my alma mater gives full consideration to restoring its football program - to the overall good of the University and ultimately the Belt, too; isn't that something the rest of the members would also prefer to see happen?)

Sorry, go ahead. Chances are we will be long gone at this rate anyway. Seems like a quorum of fans disagree with the Presidents and Commissioner and want App State and Georgia Southern instead of us anyway. Have at it.

Beyond any other problems, the first I see is that you have 8 football programs in the easy and 6 in the west.

I like it.

I'd love me that east division.

Not crazy about Lamar, UTA or UALR starting football, but they'd be in the west, so how often would MT play them?

Lamar brings neither market, nor excellance. I am not anti LU but they need to do a lot of building before I would want them in.

Next spring I could see possibly taking NMSU and App State together if we want a 12 school football league.

Oh hell I thought you meant" Hadley Lamar" the villain in Blazing Saddles. Thought it would be good to have a bad guy in the league.

MAC until the recent CUSA expansion has been the largest non-AQ league. How exactly has that vaulted them forward.

Lamar is a joke. You guys would dfeinitely benefit more from Sam Houston, SFA or UCA.

I like the fact for being aggressive, i just don't think 16 total would benefit the Belt. I like 12/14 format. Or if UALR and UTA started football, then the 12/12 would be alright with me. Then you could sit back and wait and see what unfolds with other conferences after a few years.
