I really like Breon Key. Key and Palmore will be a breath of fresh air.

Leaving: Nayquann Mitchell (Old Dominion). I forgot... did we know this or is that the answer to the scholarship for Ambrose? For some reason I thought we knew he was gone.

The other CBSSports article was even better! It explains why the sudden jump to FBS, and even mentions the 10 Year moratorium that we have heard about!

Quote:What will the CAA do with its 2012 conference tournament?

There are many questions. First, due to APR sanctions, UNC Wilmington and Towson are ineligible for any kind of postseason play. VCU's out. Boom, down to nine teams. But that's not all. Per league rules, if a team is packing its bags and leaving to another conference, then it doesn't get the chance at the glory/middle finger of winning a conference playoff on its way out. So that eliminates Old Dominion and Georgia State from the discussion. A seven-team tournament? And will it be held in Richmond, where it's been for years, even with VCU out?

Some make the case that, yeah, it should be, since Richmond will finally be a true neutral-court site. We'll see. The CAA is meeting at the start of June to go over these rules and determine what the fair/precedent-setting protocol should be.

I know we've talked about this before, but ANY chance the league will vote to allow ODU/GSU to play in the tournament? The reasons for them voting 'no' are obvious. Having a 7-game tourney though? Weaksauce.

And poor old Mason listed as 5th. Gotta love it!

Gotta love it! After the "Double pump" fake with the A-10, it is only fitting that Gaymu is picked 5th.

It's a shame all we can hope for is an at-large. I never thought the CAA presidents would change the by-laws to allow us to compete anyway, but still, with the weakened soup that is the CAA-Tournament this coming year, the CAA Champ is looking at a 15th seed-1 match-up in the Dance. ODU will probably have a 20+ win season however, knowing how Blaine gets the most out of his team. Post season here we come! But first: Football!

Ironically, I am leaving Saturday for a family vacation in Hilton Head, the very place where the CAA people are meeting next week.

I love how he says, "ODU isn't seen now as a top team." That would be the same ODU that has won 2 of the last 3 championships and has never finished outside the top 4 in the regular season. The same team, by the way, that he just picked to be 2nd.

The CAA is a black hole....try not to get sucked in! The way their luck is running right now, they'll probably get hit with a hurricane or tidal wave. LOL.

SHHHH, they are going to discuss whether to allow us to compete in the CAA tournament and the future of our orphaned programs as well. Be nice to the CAA.

Which is probably why Mason opted, if in fact it WAS their decision, to stay in the CAA. If you don't make the NCAAT, you don't get much shared revenue in the A10.
As I said before, mason has the look of a program in decline.

His picture is no longer there. They've already cycled through a number of conferences. The CAA was the first. Too bad he's gone.

Anyway, Rich Radford hasn't left us yet.

Dr. Selig, BT, BW and KB will be down in SC for the CAA meetings. They'll be crossing their fingers......

At CAA talks, Monarchs will be on outside, looking in

I just arrived at Hilton Head myself. Hope I run into some familiar faces.
