Article on pilotonline.com that states Tampa Bay is moving their affiliation to Syracuse. Possible switch with Syracuse and the Anaheim Ducks will be the new NHL affiliate in Norfolk.

This really has been the worst kept secret in the AHL since like November. It is a total dick move on the part of Tampa Bay and their reasoning has been soundly debunked by the Ads performance this year. The guys that wore the Admirals jerseys this year will always be Admirals and remembered fondly. Tampa Bay can rot. I wish them nothing but Caps levels of frustration and disappointment until the end of time. At least Anaheim has a pretty decent group of prospect in the system. I do hope they get a new coach before they roll into Norfolk. Trent Yawney coaches a boring style of hockey and has proven he can't get it done in the post season.

If Cooper is still coaching AHL hockey next year I will be VERY surprised. That guy is a flat out winner in every sense of the word.....I hope he gets a shot at the big time.

As for the move, anyone who paid even a decent amount of attention to the Admirals knew this was coming.

Yzerman and company basically said as much all season long in not so many words. That team was special and next year's team won't be able to come close to matching it so let them go out on a high note and bring in some new blood.

The Admirals play in Norfolk......regardless of who the players are........support Norfolk......not Tampa Bay or Anaheim.

Yea, I'd love for Cooper to end up in Washington.

Well, the guy that was coaching in Syracuse this year--if he stays with the Anaheim organization and comes to Norfolk, he won't be a stranger--Trent Yawney. Five years as Ads coach, 5 playoffs appearances.

At least it would be a familiar face.

It's not like the roster was exactly the same between this season and the one before that. There was plenty of turnover.
