Welcome HSF1, thanks for posting these highlights of McCarley. I was excited when I saw that we received a verbal last Saturday night, but after watching this video I must say I'm pumped. It's like watching another TH. The kid's got a great arm, can scramble and run, and looks to be strong. With a RS year and backing up TH for a year we might have our QB to replace him in 2015.

Mavericks quarterback Shane McCarley finished 17-34 for 278 yards and four touchdowns, in a losing cause. Manvel Mavericks looked like they were going to have it easy, taking an early 21-0. Then North Shore outscored the Mavericks 56-7, to win the game 56-28.

Ya. It took me a few minutes and happened to see him in like the 10th result and it was listed as Rob.

We have done well so far on the initial "Top 5 Targets" list. Mizzell (UVA) and Veii (UM) have both signed with ACC schools. We were able to secure verbals from both Johnson and Anderson. I saw Anderson play in person and he is definitely going to help our pass rush.

From what I hear, we are heavily after McGill from Ocean Lakes right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see some news on him within the next few weeks.

I heard on the Saturday AM high school show on 94.1 that Western Branch RB Josh Marriner is soon to committ to ODU. Josh runs a 4.4/40 and has good grades with a 3.6 gpa. If we could land both Marriner and McGill that would be four of the 757's top 10. Along with a few other things, just one year ago, that would have been totally unpredictable.

According to the link above, Josh just got an offer to UCONN. It would be awesome to see him stay home and play. ODU has had some nice runningbacks, but not game changers. I think Josh could be that type of player for ODU.

As far as McGill, I believe he posted on Twitter that we are in his top 5. It would definitely be huge if both these guys decided to play here.

Good move. Need to balance the classes some. Also, JuCo defensive players might be more of a 'known' commodity than high school players - as far as getting some impact players.
