Per Recruit757, ODU got a verbal from Phoebus defensive end Mark Wilson on Friday. "Hampton WR/S Daquin Moore and Phoebus Defensive End Mark Wilson both committed to the Monarchs at their camp on Friday."
Source

According to Rivals, Wilson is a 2* with offers from FBS programs Syracuse, Purdue, Illinois, Northern Illinois and Western Kentucky.

ESPN has him as a 2* recruit (though he is just one point from being a 3*) and only lists an offer from Illinois.

Lastly, Scout has him as a 2* and lists the same teams as offering as Rivals.

Chesterfield.
Meadowbrook quarterback Gerard Johnson has committed to Old Dominion. A first-team All-Metro pick in 2011 as a junior, Johnson led the Metro area with a 185.82 passer rating.

If the rumors of Dew from Tech transferring to ODU are true, we are looking at a high level athlete being added to the team. He has NFL attributes in terms of his size at the Safety position.

Per a tweet from Chris Carlson, ODU has a verbal committment from 6'1 WR Anthony Bonett Jr. from Morrestown NJ (Philadelphia Metro.) Bonett runs a 4.5/40, has a two star rating, and had also been offered by Syracuse.

Just saw this earlier. Been comparing offers and looks like we're competing almost directly with Syracuse, Temple, Duke and such. This excites me.

This means little in the way of breaking news, but a Va Tech buddy of mine (who is well-connected) at my neighborhood pool, told me Dew was coming our way. He had heard about some potential academic issues, but not so much that they were the reason of the transfer.

This info is nothing more than 5th-party rumor. However, I will say that his acknowledgement of our program is a nice change from summer's past.

Amen to that! It's like moving from the kiddie pool to the grown up pool.

Nice competing for recruits with ACC and Big East school already, CUSA better watch out. They won't know what hit them.

Seems that a lot of it stems more from Dew being asked to learn a position (whip) which is apparently really tough to pick up because not a lot of teams use it. It's a hybrid safety-LB position with lots of responsibilities, from coverage, to run support, to blitzing.

I have a feeling if he returns to his regular role at safety, he'll be fine.

That's exactly what a friend of mine from VT said. He said he'd fit our system better than the whip position he was trying to adapt to there.

No one will notice a little pee in the A10 pool. It already has a big steaming pile of VCU floating in it (Cue Caddyshack video). COGS

RE: 2013 Old Dominion Football Recruiting Den
My VT friend just walked up to me at work "Man! you guys got another good transfer in Caleb." He said he saw him play lots at Phoebus as his wife and her father went there and go to a lot of games. He said while he watched him play for Dee at Phoebus he would rack up 12 tackles a game with ease. He said he was hurt a lot but UVa strength and conditioning probably helped with that.
