Yep, just like the Big 12 was dead when Nebraska & Colorado left... oh, wait, no one has actually left the ACC yet!

I agree Mark. The media outlets, ah ah I mean bloggers, have def caused a lot of paranoia. I'm just ready for this to be over. I have a feeling we'll hear this stuff for the duration of the TV Deal.

The difference being that the ACC just signed like a 20yr TV deal that completely devalues the ACC and I believe actually dropped the yearly income of the schools now if it dropped or increased I don't know for sure. BUt what I do know is that it is a **** deal where the schools are not happy with getting 17M/yr when other conferences just signed deals where the schools are getting upwards of 35M/yr.

Wow - it's up to $35M/yr now? Amazing how the Big 12 TV contract grows bigger every day! (BTW - ALL conferences are pretty much locked into long term contracts which expire within a couple of years of each other. The ACC at least had the forethought to build-in "look-ins" every 5 years, just in case the landscape changes. Worst-case scenario, teams can always leave the conference later, since there is no grant of rights).

Ah, so now the Hokies are the ones on the escalator, and the Mountaineers are looking up at us? RECOGNIZE!

I seem to remember WVU stomping the ACC Champion, who beat VT pretty badly 2 times btw, in the Orange Bowl...

The Hokies don't own diddly, dude. WVU is 28-22-1 against VT all-time, and the Hokies haven't played WVU since leaving The BEast...

9-3 over the last 12 meetings = OWNAGE! (but why have this discussion on a Maryland board?)

Since WVU and VT haven't played in 8 years, it's all ancient history and irrelevant. Why are we debating it? It beats me. You were the one who guided this conversation here...

I merely made a joke about the escalator clause, and you started talking smack...

Of course you are innocent and it was me who started all the smack talk...

As for not playing in 8 years... BRING IT ON! Although if you are scared to play FSU I doubt you'll be all that interested in playing VT. Much easier to pick on Maryland OOC. So my advice to the Mountaineers would be "pick on somebody your own size". I think you all remember how to get to Blacksburg from Morgantown, and vice versa. Git 'er done!

The only contests we'll have to root about will be the basketball matchup that's been scheduled...

Football looks like it's going to stay on a hiatus for a while...

That's a real shame, too. Maybe if the NCAA goes to 13 regular season games... I was really hoping we would have met WVU in an Orange Bowl by now, but timing was always off.

I think the below pictures pretty much say it all!!!

Go Terps!!!!
[Image: Northern_Daytrips_Baltimore_Washington_D...84560.jpeg]

VATECH!?!?!?!??!
Ouch. This one is not pretty for the Hokies.

Tech is 1-27 against Top Five competition all time. 1-19 under Frank Beamer.

Its tough to get wins in this category. That is why they are Top Five teams.

The best beat the best, however. And Virginia Tech has been nothing short of awful against the best. Frank Beamer has to find a way to instill the confidence needed in his teams to beat the perennial greats.

Until that time, the Hokies will be trapped by the glass ceiling that is elite status.
