That was a crazy game. Gotta give kudos to ULM's coach for the straight steal of home against Alvarez. They would have lost if not for that.

Each team's closer threw 4 innings plus. Wonder what the turnaround will be there.

By the way, WKU's coaches and players cannot stand the pool play format.

Nobody ever likes pool play when you lose the first game and you're seeded fourth in that particular pool. Your only chance to make it to the championship game is to win out. WKU's just playing for pride right now.

I don't blame them. I prefer the double-elimination format.

In the meantime...that steal of home by ULM was totally unexpected. It's a great call because it worked.

South is now playing two meaningless games. Awesome tourney format.

There are several coaches who dont like the format at all. Ive been told to expect them to change it back to double elimination for next year. Saving pitching is great...but the coaches are frustrated that they may be resting their season in the hands of some team that is playing for nothing but pride.

By the way, I share the frustrations others have. ASU wins its first game 12-1 in 7 innings, our reward? We have to play an essential elimination game against Troy tomorrow unless MTSU somehow upsets FIU.

With the USA win late last night, ULM is an automatic into the Championship Game on Sunday!!

Yea and that sucks. It really only takes one bad game and then you are placing all your hopes on what another team does. ULM got really hot at the end of the year and played two tight games to win in extra innings. I really think this is a very close conference as far as teams goes and there really should be a double elimination. The cream will rise to the top. Look at the number of very close games in conference play this year.

Hopefully next year they will get it right.
