New Orleans, Belt Hdqtrs, Loses Their Daily Paper !
New Orleans, Belt conference headquarters, is losing their daily newspaper. Times-Picayune will reduce to 3 days weekly. Sign of the times & changing media ?

I imagine the largest of the nation's papers will be able to resist much longer. For the smaller circulations though, it appears to be a different story.

My wife works at a smaller, regional paper, and they are down to 2 days a week.

I used to be in the newspaper game here in Missouri, for you Arkansas folks they also owned all the big ones in Arkansas as well. Your two biggest day ad wise were Sunday and Wednesday. If you focus on local stories and have breaking news on the web and social media, newspapers can still do well.

I'm a fan of print journalism, but it's a dying industry.

I remember as a little kid growing up in Terrebonne Parish, my old man would send me every morning down to the corner to get the Picayune.

It's going to happen everywhere sooner or later.
