On accuracy and climate
An interesting summary of a new satellite here
http://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/jpss/instrume...html#viirs

In particular the CrIS write up caught my attention

Quote:It will provide over 1,000 infrared spectral channels at an improved horizontal spatial resolution and measure temperature profiles with improved vertical resolution to an accuracy approaching 1 Kelvin (the absolute temperature scale).

So, it's indicating that this improved instrument will only approach an accuracy of 1K, strongly implying that current measurements are not as accurate.

Yet AGW catastrophists tell us that the Earth warmed 0.59K. Well below the accuracy of their instrumentation. Thus, such claims are nonsense.

Quote: It will also provide a vital tool for National Oceanic and Atmostpheric Administration (NOAA) to take the pulse of the planet continuously and assist in understanding major climate shifts.

Interesting, we need a continuous "pulse" of the planet to assist in major climate shifts. Isn't this what Mach was complaining about recently? That people are confusing short-term measurements w/ climate studies?

Well, it's coming directly from the government source. What else are we to understand?
