The basketball facilities are being funded by donations only
I know that, but the entire facility is still an athletic facility. It's not just the practice facility, which is certainly the most visible and exciting aspect of it.
We've had this discussion before...
Yes, some of the other allotted new space is for non revenue sports but the majority of the new space and renovation is for REC services and classroom/office space, retail space...
This is not a sole intercollegiate athletic building. Almost 3/4 on the entire new floor is for REC services, front space for retail, and there are added lecture halls too...
USF ha s done major renovations and building for athletics. I'm not good with posting pictures on here but maybe another fan can post pictures of our new softball, baseball, soccer, dining facility, football fields, basketball training facility. We are Now the process of redoing the football locker rooms and building an indoor football practice field

New lights are going up at the practice fields. Wish list is a BBall practice facility, everything else has basically been done in the last decade to 15 years. BBall arena about 15 years ago, Tony Gwynn Stadium about 10 years ago, Track is on the top deck of a parking lot across from bball, that was about 8 years ago, athletic offices 6 or 7 years ago, Softball stadium 5or6 years ago, aquatic complex and tennis 5 or so years ago, alumni center went in couple years ago
bball arena is in top right corner, grass practice field below next to the rest of the track
Here's our new practice field...

Big news at Temple today, Coach Addazio announced that Temple will be building an indoor football practice facility. Should be done in the next 1 1/2 years.

Good recap Monty. Not sure if the link will work (you may have to cut & paste) but this should take you to the GOAZTECS.COM all facilities page. From there you can navigate to all of the facilities.
It's depressing to see that beautiful baseball stadium which houses as underachieving a team as exists in the US. And to see that nice track which no longer has a men's team to use it. And then there's Qualcomm. It's an NFL stadium, grant you, but the worst in the league with absolutely no momentum toward being replaced and a dumb butt Chargers ownership that expects taxpayers to fund a replacement or at least just give them billions of dollars of land to put a new stadium on.

True. I was not going to point those things out, but can't argue. You must admit that it could be much much worse. We could have the facilities of some or our soon to be NSBW brothers - even if they have over achieving baseball programs.
Maybe SDSU uses some of the NBE tv revenue to fund men's track&field and possibly men's volleyball (our last national championship team).
Not much will change on the baseball front unless T Gywnn is successful in becoming an owner of the SD Padres. If that happens I'm hoping he steps down as HC, but remains in some fashion as an ambassador for the program.

Speaking of the Not So Big West and facilities... Peterson Gym (home of Aztec Women's Volleyball) seats 3,668 spectators. That is more than most of the gyms of the schools in the NSBW. I hope our Basketball team is strong enough to survive the move to the Big West until a better alternative can be found. The mentality of the Big West is far from being "Big" and will likely never become a powerful basketball conference. My best hope is that it becomes at least a two bid league.
How on Earth did CSU Northridge and UC Riverside ever get accepted?... and most of the schools fans/alums don't want to admit Boise State... should give everyone an indication of just how "small time" the Big West.... or, excuse me... Not So Big West really is.

Not exactly new, but UofL is in the process of expanding Jim Patterson Stadium (baseball). The areas behind the first and third base dugouts are being cleared for the installation of permanent seating, which will boost overall seating capacity to 3,000-plus. They are also adding terraces as shown below.

I should have added that when Strasburg signed his 1st contract a couple years ago he gave 500k to redo the infield and foul area between the bases at Tony Gwynn Stadium; and there was a brief independent calif. league that spent some money upgrading the seating.
