Here's a suggestion, let's call it The Ball? I mean, we are a wine and cheese crowd after all. ?

RE: ODAF Donations
Since the stadium will already have SB Ballards name all over it and the field will honor Mr. Kornblau, how about we go in a different direction for a nickname - I suggest "the Prideland"

Also, we're losing three tailgating lots this year (beige, green and teal), but they're adding 3 (possibly 4). Gresham is one, the loading dock at Broderick Dining Commons is another. The third was a grass lot but I don't remember where. The 4th that could possibly be added is at Larchmont Elementary. But that hasn't been finalized yet and may not happen.

Bumping this since I know many have it set to show 10 posts at a time.

What exactly do you mean when you say they will shift seats?

When the new endzone is built they may move the students again, which may move or shift the tickets that don't require a seat fee.

They also used VT as an example, since they have that 2k ticket requirement in the contract. In those years, they may take from those sections that don't require a membership fee to help meet that contractual obligation.

Thanks. Is there any way to know beforehand which seats will be shifted?

They said the only seats they may shift don't have a seat membership. So, if you don't want to be moved, don't buy in the silver and black sections;

RE: ODAF Donations
It's giving day for ODU. I made my ODAF pledge in January but I made a small donation to Strome this morning. Hope all of you do the same for ODU.

04-cheers

Talked with a young man yesterday. Called me at the worst time driving to my son's baseball. Told him to call me back at lunch today to finish that transaction up.

Not sure if the number is final, but it looks like they raised $185k yesterday. If I remember correctly, it was $179k last year. So they done did good.

739 out of over 110K Alum. Sad.... I certainly hope the graduates over the last 20 years that have accumulated all that debt from student loans still give a little back to the University. I have a feeling they have an entitlement mentality.

Looks like athletics got $68,500 yesterday. They should do a special drive just to remove and replace the Steve scoreboard since apparently that’s the holdup. I bet people would give to make it happen. Any idea how much the whole endzone might cost? FWIW, my money yesterday went to academics. Can’t give it all to sports.

I don’t get that sense from ODU. Not enough rich kids go there. If anything, younger grads either have too many bills to give, or don’t understand the importance of it. At the school I work at, we try to engrain that in students and establish a pattern of giving before they graduate. Every graduating class raises a “ class gift” for the school in their final spring semester. And every class wants to outdo the one before. I wonder if ODU does something like that? If not, maybe they should.

Great Idea ! I seriously don't think they do and the VP for SEES should have started it. Now that she is leaving maybe new ideas can be brought in to build more pride in ODU.

They have had this for years. It's called the senior class challenge.
