I was discussing the same thing with some people at the office yesterday. I'm all set to make an ODAF donation but I need to see what I have to do to get parking and Big Blue for basketball now that I have to pay a seat fee at The Steve. I really don't see my total annual contribution going up so I hope they have adjusted some things to account for this brave new world.

The Steve just has an awful ring to it. The Ted and The Bud don't have that issue.

One thing I know will come with this amount of money- increased expectations of winning. Donors don't give up this kind of dough without expectations for a substantial return. The heat is really going to be on Selig and Wilder.

RE: ODAF Donations
I just got the email about parking (donation ranges for each lot) and it looks about the same as it had, maybe came down a little for the blue lot and higher. I expected them all to drop a fair amount to offset the seat premium, maybe they are just figuring that will hit the more expensive lots harder.

They're losing 2 lots next season, green and beige. So they estimate it should be about the same as last year and it may actually increase due to the decreased availability.

We maybe at 80 or 85% or even better, of the goal for that time. (Potentially 35 or 36 million). I'm excited bout the prospects. The start of the new year historically has been good for Old Dominion in regards to donations. When the 40 million for Athletic donations is reached it has been suggested that the 2nd phase of the stadium will become a priority for the funds raised. Is there anyone that may have insight as to what this may mean for the 2nd phase of the Stadium.
Thanks for any info.
North Endzone will be next up but that is not called Phase 2. Not sure any longer what the heck Phase 2 will be and I think right now they are just concentrating on Phase 1 and then getting the North Endzone done. At least that is my impression from what I have heard from folks that should know.
Thanks, Was not sure if there would be any plans for Suites or other expansion. That may be imposable at this time. Would love to see a jump in the Suites, or an additions before the new opening in 2019 or maybe even a target date to see other improvements
PS. I think we will see the $40 million mark as soon as June 2020. This was a very successful donor campaign. I am puzzled why the Athletic department has not launched a target project centered around the Stadium. I think the fans and donor base would respond very favorably if we would be given a plan how the funds would be used.
I think the next UPDATE will skip March and go to April (April 1, 2019, If announced in March it will be because they have far surpassed that goal. Otherwise they will let it linger a little for more donations to continue to come in).
The Athletic Department will announce they have surpassed the $40 Million Fund raising goal they set to be completed in - 4 years. YES a year ahead of schedule. Fantastic accomplishment by all involved and all of those that donated. The sum target of $40 million has actually ballooned because it is not inclusive of a few "side donations" for dedicated athletic earmarks. Those special donations such as he Dennis Elmer contribution and others. My understanding is those were targeted outside the initial ODAF goals (hope I'm correct). A few special side projects that will just make it all better. I understand them to be special donations for dedicated projects.
Remember this is separate from the University Capital Contribution Campaign of $200 million that Broderick started in June of 2016. " 'ODU Capital Campaign - June 30, 2016" . by Broderick.
I still feel that Ballard will surprise all during the end of this build out with some additions that will raise the bar to another level. I lot is going to happen in the next year. Really looking forward to the final results and excitement. It will create a genuine and positive synergy to football again. I'm so ready for everything to start to "snowball" in the spring.

RE: ODAF Donations
For those of you who like to sit in the same seats every season, make sure you get tickets with a seat membership. The seats without one are the ones they will shift when we host VT and they may be moved when they build the new endzone.
Also, we're losing three tailgating lots this year (beige, green and teal), but they're adding 3 (possibly 4). Gresham is one, the loading dock at Broderick Dining Commons is another. The third was a grass lot but I don't remember where. The 4th that could possibly be added is at Larchmont Elementary. But that hasn't been finalized yet and may not happen.
