RE: ODAF Donations
Here's my question. In the past reseating was done ostensibly to allow bigger donors to improve their seats, so a smaller donor could be bumped from their seats if someone wanted them. It looks like under this new system that goes away. So, if Because of You priority points no longer apply to seat selection, how is a donor incentivized to give more $$ if that doesn't help them select better seats?
Though it's not mentioned, I have to think ODU will raise the cost of seat licenses from time to time, so some folks with shallow pockets will be priced out eventually.

They will raise money by offering more benefits if you give more. Like...If they offer more benefits like tailgating, away trip discounts and perks, away tickets, sideline passes, BB room, VIP benefits and other hospitality, food discounts, etc. You are correct they better the team performs and the more demand for tickets is generated they will raise the seat reservation fees. I suspect they will keep seat reservation fees the same and raise season ticket prices first.

RE: ODAF Donations
For me an ideal situation would be to put a price on each perk or benefit and allow us to only buy the ones we want as opposed to having giving levels that may include a number of items I'm not really interested in. A real ala carte program, just charge more for each item.

RE: ODAF Donations
It appears, looking at the seating structure (post 160 link), that 2019 ODAF donations are in the seat allocation point formula (x 0.15) as well as lifetime ODAF donations (x 0.2). Consecutive years of ODAF donations and season tickets are both weighted more heavily (x2). So, at least for this seating reassignment, ODAF donations remain a factor. It seems that the biggest change in seating will result in any reduction of numbers of seats bought by high donors, due to the seat licenses, freeing some up for lower donors. As most everyone likely knows or assumes, there will be no reseating next year for basketball.

We reseated in 2017 for football and basketball (at least I think we did basketball the same year). If they hold the trend it would be 2020 when that happens again. I really hope they reseat The Ted again. I want to move my dad up with me for one and frankly, the basketball only set should not be immune to the seat fees.

Nice jump in donations, last report was Oct 16 and we were at $22,000,000 or 55% of the goal. In just a month and a half we have tallied 7 million in donations and reached almost the three quarter mark in the set goal. WTG Monarchs

RE: ODAF Donations
Next update should be in February. We maybe at 80 or 85% or even better, of the goal for that time. (Potentially 35 or 36 million). I'm excited bout the prospects. The start of the new year historically has been good for Old Dominion in regards to donations. When the 40 million for Athletic donations is reached it has been suggested that the 2nd phase of the stadium will become a priority for the funds raised. Is there anyone that may have insight as to what this may mean for the 2nd phase of the Stadium.

Thanks for any info.

North Endzone will be next up but that is not called Phase 2. Not sure any longer what the heck Phase 2 will be and I think right now they are just concentrating on Phase 1 and then getting the North Endzone done. At least that is my impression from what I have heard from folks that should know.

That makes the most sense to me. Get that bowl connected all around and make it look like a big boy stadium then build up.

Thanks, Was not sure if there would be any plans for Suites or other expansion. That may be imposable at this time. Would love to see a jump in the Suites, or an additions before the new opening in 2019 or maybe even a target date to see other improvements

PS. I think we will see the 40 million mark as soon as June 2020. This was a very successful donor campaign. I am puzzled why the Athletic department has not launched a target project centered around the Stadium. I think the fans and donor base would respond very favorably if we would be given a plan how the funds would be used.

I agree. For whatever reason, ODAF appears to loathe the idea of raising dedicated money for specific purposes. They want it all unrestricted. I would imagine they could get several million pretty quickly if they did a specific drive just for the stadium.

ODAF is doing the Rise to Prominence Brick Campaign that's specifically targeted to the stadium.

Oh good. I didnt realize the brick money was specifically for the stadium. I've bought three of those already. I think its a great program.

It is a great Campaign for the fans and a nice "Gimmick Fund Raiser" to use a phrase that really doesn't describe the fund raiser. However it limits the larger Donors and is not the typical fund raiser that can spiral to huge donations. If they specifically said … The funds will go to the "North Re-Build Project" or to a "2nd phase". We will need to raise or it will require 25 million in funds to build 1st). Suits and an additional 2nd part). This will add 10,000 more seats for the start of the top deck on the west side. That is what I was hoping for.

I'm not diminishing the need and importance of the current fund raiser, and yes I have participated. But I think the other.... with a focus could be huge to move us forward faster. I also thing SB Ballard will be instrumental moving forward with his generosity. Time will tell.

I got the same email. They definitely should have included a link for the cost of donated perks this year.

But it's nice to read they're openly discussing the north endzone renovation. Myself and MrBigBlue we're questioned (as if we were lying) when we said that was in the works.
