The subject of academics frequently comes up and it usually centers around research funding. While it can be a source of pride for those of our schools who are heavy into research, it is only one metric amongst many when considering overall academic quality. Personally, it matters not a hill of beans from the standpoint of athletics, but in the FWIW department, here you go...
