Not certain, I've heard that UTA has a scheduled Board Meeting this Thursday. It's expected that they'll accept at or shortly after that . . .

I haven't the slightest clue. And for me personally, I'm not exactly sitting on pins and needles over it. My understanding was that it was pretty much a done deal when we got an invite, so I've pretty much considered them a one of the "new adds" at that point.

They have to get board approval first so it slowed things down. That's how I understand it.

I hear that they are trying to collect all of their fans together for the announcement ceremony...the problem is they haven't been able to find any.

I don't see that happening. At some point a moratorium is going to be placed on FCS move ups. Which cant really hold if everything's unstable for years and years.

Well, I am affraid that sitting and waiting will allow App and Ga. Southern to catch the first train smoking to the WAC. All the WAC needs are a few schools to make it FBS football again. If the entirety of the Southland Conference moved up (sans Northwestern State and Nicholls) along with adding App State, Ga Southern and Jax State, the entire SBC better be ready to crap a huge terd.

I am guessing that neither school has the necessary 8 out of 9 votes or else they would have been invited even if the invite was for 2014 or 2015

This Thursday, the Texas System Board of Regents will vote to give Texas-Arlington authorization to accept the previously rumored invitation to the Sun Belt Conference, according to the group's published agenda. The agenda states the Sun Belt officially extended the invitation on May 7, and the effective date for the conference move is July 1, 2013.

According to the details of the agenda, no exit fee will be required to the WAC, and the entry fee to the Sun Belt is $300,000.....

How do they move in the WAC? Sure they can count it as a bona fide invitation to an FBS league as long as the invite is issued by June 30, 2013.

But how do you complete year two of transition? That requires playing at least 8 FBS games and at least four have to be at home. Pretty hard to do in a league with two FBS members.
