Whats the count at this point? Does Paul have enough to Deny Romney a first round victory?

Oh I don't think there is a chance that anyone but Romney wins at the convention but I would love for him to at least have to go through two votes.

I have not followed the primaries too closely since it got down to Romney / Paul so I was asking a question.

Nope. Romney will win handily on the first ballot. The Paul people who haven't given up hope, which amazingly doesn't include Paul or his son, are hoping for faithless delegates. Won't happen.

Romney is the nominee. How many delegates Paul takes in at this point is largely irrelevant for nominating purposes. For other votes, i.e. plank positions, that sort of thing, they can make some noise.

And this is the objective of the Paul campaign.

I will say this one thing: I don't support Paul candidacy, but I support his campaign and his followers shooting across the bow of the static Republican party.

That ended when Paul gave up on CA and TX.

The most accurate counter is from the AP, and even it lags by many weeks from the Paul campaign/grassroots announcements:

http://hosted.ap.org/interactives/2012/d...e-tracker/

Paul's real strength is closer to 225 ... most of it coming out of delegates the AP presently has in the Romney and Santorum columns.

The current Ron Paul grassroots count of finished and selected delegates:

Romney 705
Paul 200+

Currently the grassroots projects Paul's final strength as around 550 delegates.

What is needed is a way to contribute to the general election coffers for Romney while showing a policy preference for Paul. How can that be done?

I like to take Romney's solicitations for money and respond back with a penny and a piece of Ron Paul literature.

Kind of like 2008 was setting up the 2012 Ron Paul campaign.
