B12 and SEC OWN their championship game bowl.
The B12 & SEC OWN their championship game bowl. (1) They will bid out the game to various cities and whoever bids the highest, gets the bowl. (2) THey will award the game to the tv broadcast network that bids the highest. (3) The SEC & B12 may use a current bowl site within the existing bowls or start up a new bowl. (4) The game will be played on New Year's Day.

In summary, B12 & SEC are giving themselves a bowl and controlling all aspects of that bowl.

CUSA needs to emulate this. We shouldn't be at the mercy of ESPN where they push us to time best for ESPN, and not CUSA. CUSA should match its top four teams agains the top four teams of MWC, and play all the games on New Year's Day and pick fun sites for their bowls.

The Alliance is going thru some dramatic changes, totally different from the past. We need to follow that same strategy with our bowls.

I like it in theory, but in practice I'm not so sure. Adding four new bowls really waters down a bowl season that already tastes like Natty Light.

Plus, there's the issue of... well... what network is willing to take a C-USA v. MWC in the same time slot as the Gator or Outback Bowl?
