Running Justin Verlander thread
Former Monarch baseball player Justin Verlander lost his bid to become only the 6th pitcher in major league history with 3 no hitters last night in the ninth inning.

He gave up a little dying quail after going 8.1 inning of no hit baseball but ended up getting the one hit shutout.

Justin deserves some acknowledgment as the best pitcher in baseball right now and quite frankly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he does throw that next no-hitter, maybe even before the end of this year.

Kudos to him, a great Monarch!

I saw him pitch in college one day against VCU. He was matched up against a VCU kid that was a top prospect too (Orenduff?). I think Verlander K'ed 16 or 17 and with a decent lead late some VCU scrub tried to bunt and fouled it off and Verlander gave him some chin music with the next pitch.
