And make the "third crossing" tie in at 44th street to allow traffic and peninsula students better access!

Now your speaking my language. It would almost be a straight line route from my house COGS I might even be willing to take that stupid train if they would put the tracks in the tunnel.

Raze Larchmont. It's old anyway. Expand out that way. Plenty of room. Immanent domain rules.

Yes, on campus is an absolute must.

I would like to see a brand new stadium. If space allowing, I would love to see a new stadium built on the river, along the same idea of Washington's Husky Stadium:

Both Washingtons and Tennessees stadiums are on the water. UT even has the Volunteer Navy. We could have a Monarch or Royal Navy.

Was in seattle about a year ago, and I checked out Washington's stadium there. I did really like it. Plus that city and surrounding area, and entire state really, are just gorgeous. We think we've got it made with the Chesapeake bay seafood... Well their Alaskan seafood puts our little blue crabs to shame.

RE: Expanding your stadium
I wonder if Powhatan Field (built for area HS football) would be a choice for a new stadium. It is right next to the football practice fields and offices. That way we could keep Foreman Field as is and use that until the new stadium is built at Powhatan, then turn Foreman over to the high schools for their use.

On the other hand, we sure put a lot of money into the current configuration of Forman Field, so that would be a very elaborate HS stadium. But, as others have said, expanding Foreman without demolishing the clam shells is like a band aid and would be a less than satisfying solution.

Maybe, but parking still needs to be addressed.

What is slotted for the 3 blocks of vacant land just south of the Ted on Hampton blvd. This property is pretty much cleared out from 39th st. to the McDonalds.

You don't think they will be able to build over the clamshells like Northwesterns stadium. Or demo one side at a time and rebuild where the stadium sits. Where would the build a new one? Space is limited around there if I remember correctly.

Yeah build the endzone, then tear down one side and then tear down the other. Simple enough. I trust you guys will have a plan to get capacity raised before you get in the league.
And when complete we will have our own Horse Shoe which could hold about 60K

(Master Plan LINK) If you go 3/4-4/5 down the page you'll see that it looks like that it's going to be an extension of the village/the district. Apparently there are plans for a supermarket in the southern village plans (at least in april of 2010).

Long term that's a great number to shoot for. The only thing I would say is while you need to raise capacity before you enter the league I would caution not to jump too high too quickly. Having tickets being hard to get and hot commodities is a very good thing. You guys have done it right from the start. Had a stadium that was the perfect size for a new program and have gotten fans engrained that they will need season tickets if they want to guarantee a seat. That allows you to ride through down periods of play on the field. I understand why Georgia State is playing in the Dome, but the fact that seats are so easy to come by makes buying a season ticket meaningless. Therefore their attendance will be completely performance and opponent driven. I'm very glad Charlotte is not taking the easy route and building their own stadium.

Wow doesn't cover that.

How about putting a new stadium between Gresham/Rogers/Larchmont in the Layfeyette River when we're ready? That little inlet gets low and stinks at low tide anyhow... Have flood gates that open for water sports/events, like Disney on Jetski's. Just an idea.

Seriously, we invested $21 million already in Foreman. If we abandon it now, we just spend $7 million/year in a stadium... that's dumb. Expand it as cost effectively as possible, and hope it serves the purpose for 6-10 more years until we can manage something similar to Baylor's new stadium.

These are the renderings for a proposed expansion of Nippert Stadium (University of Cincinnati)... Would be cool if ODU could do something like this with symmetrical clamshells on the top tier of the east and west sides of a new (or renovated) Foreman Field.

on the parking master plan, it's listed a "Transitional Zone" with the possibility of 500-900 new parking spaces (depending on what slide show you look at on http://www.odu.edu/af/parking/about/planning/)
