it would be best if obama wins this election
from a strategical standpoint. though i guess the possibility of eight years of romney isn't exactly terrible. it's just that it'll be till 2020 before a candidate could galvanize the republic office. i can't imagine who the dem's will throw up in 2016, but i don't think mittens is exactly all that popular. i'm voting ron paul regardless

I'm not a big Romney fan. But I'm voting ABO (anyone but Obama).

Can't afford it, we don't have the $$. Mr. trillion-dollar deficit has to go ASAP for that reason alone....

Lush, I was thinking along the same lines today. But he's right, this country cannot afford another 4 years of Barack Obama as President.

can we afford it now? as long as the word deficit appears in the dictionary, politicians will carry on business as usual. but you're probably right. we'd be in a much deeper hole and anyone of any affiliation wouldn't last two terms because of his administration. the presidency has so little power to be effectual in four years. you're basically riding the last run. i propose a one time, 10 year office, with a referendum after the first five years. if public majority supports the prez, he stays. if not, the people decide. and it doesn't have to be just the sitting prez's party. the sitting prez can't campaign while the referendum is under way, as his first five years were his appeal to america. because a sitting prez should worry more about his job.

"Afford" is not in the government's dictionary. Common sense would say that when you're $15+ trillion in debt, you can't afford anything. Our government stopped worrying about common sense long ago.

Good ideas, but good luck getting politicians to NOT campaign. This country needs very strict term limits in the House and Senate and we NEED to get rid of lobbyists. I know some get annoyed because I repeat this a lot, but as long as "politician" is a job and not a duty, this country is going to continue its decline.

If someone would embrace austerity, we'd be able to save this sinking ship.

Problem is...the majority of American citizens have been mainlining government largess for too long--they'll vote themselves benefits until deficit spending can't even correct this nations financial problems.

Then, when the whole thing collapses, everyone will point fingers at everyone else, but in the end, they should be blaming themselves for thinking that this was sustainable.

I guess it's the old "learn by example" scenario that will finally shine the light of truth on everything...when the jobs are gone, and the money's gone...that's it!

I think it's time to learn survival skills.

Anybody know where to get trained to build shelter, hunt, and fish? Could be a worthwhile endeavor....

NatGeo. Great channel, great show. It's funny, it seemed like the show started out making fun of these people but then the show was a huge success and the show became less derisive to the people it featured.

Warning, it will make you want to blow about $250,000 on survival gear.

The status quo at this point is for politicians and leeches to live it up while the workers and nation go deeper into debt. Change is needed, but there isn't enough of a push to hold lawmakers responsible for doing the right thing.

My favorite survival forum is bushcraftusa.com .
