Jesus... get a sense of humor!
There is a Big West board?
Of course there is - where else would you organize a competitive hacky sack match or argue over whose ultimate frisbee team is most radical?
I'm glad Californians also make California stereotype jokes.

Oh yes we do...This is a big State and you can't find more different type of people from one end to the other.
Not many San Diegans have much in common with L.A. or S.F. San Diegans hate L. Aliens and find San Franscisco a little to left for their liking.
The Valley is another story all together. Think of it more like the people from "Swamp People".
The real Northern California (north of Sacramento) hates everything south of Redding and Chico.

Who cares what the Big West fans think? It's our conference now.

RE: SDSU sends the Big West a subtle message...
It's not my preference to lose Boise State or SDSU, in fact I'd love to see this work out and would like the Big East to work overtime to get AFA and BYU on board.
However, if this doesn't work and no other solution can be found for Boise and as a result they pull back and we lose SDSU too, I'd say it's time to strengthen the conference base with schools that fit the conference footprint perfectly. Sure the football would not be as good, but the marketing footprint would be great.
Grab UMass for all sports to get to an even 12 team conference, 19 bball schools.
If the Big East wants to get to 14, then work every angle possible to get Army on board as a football only member and pick up one of the following: ECU, Tulsa or NIU as an all sports member to provide a good football program and get to 20 basketball schools.
The Big East would be predominately eastern with great presence in the Ohio Valley, Florida and Texas markets.
UConn
UMass
Army
Rutgers
Temple
Navy
Cincinnati
Louisville
Memphis
NIU/ECU/TU
UCF
USF
SMU
UH
