Thats crap L Yes...they are not going to do that and you know it . Are you telling me you would just cut lose Notre Dame, Villanova, Marquette and Georgetown.Nova and Georgetown are just sitting there (in huge markets) waiting for a great coach to walk in the door. The 16 team league is Trangese 's saftey net....hell Nova and Georgetown have as much basketball tradition as you do. Sure hope I don't go into an investment office and find you managing my money.

Hey Cardianl Jim

We'll try to control the heckling a little bit when your boy brings the eagles to Minges. Itll be mighty hard though.
Id say you should make that game, but Im sure someone would piss you off by breaking out a funnel or something.

I cant believe noone seemed to pick up on the connection you mentioned.

Furthermore, Why wouldnt we enjoy that win LYes - Its not like there is a mural of it inside our arena or anything... We're pretty humble with basketball - but an extrememly excited bunch as it seems to be making very significant and steady progression from a glorified intramural team 5 years ago. The improvement has been undeniable on the Minges hardcourt - AND just an FYI
ECU HAS WON A CUSA ROAD GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We defeated USF

04-cheers Cheers

TopCoog Wrote:Bull, you got picked because the Big East wanted a team in Florida, pure and simple. As for the BCS ...its a spent force and will be gone by 2010. New technology and confrence cable channels will change all that. If NBC decides to be a bigger player it will be even quicker.
watch what Fox Sports is up to. by 2006 all of there six regional sports networks will have 720p HDTV broadcasts of college football games......why do you think MikeT and the BE haven't signed the lowball highbinding contract ABC/ESPN offered? 04-cheers

Piratetreasure,
I appreciate the ticket information. I will give them a call when the schedule is released.

Pikappwaggs,
I enjoy a great home crowd. I will probably try to make an ECU nonconference game this season so I can root for the Pirates as well. :D

TopCoog,
As a CUSA member you should be more concerned what happens to that contract then the Big East. Many remaining in CUSA want to point out that the Big East would be playing weeknight games but I just read where the WAC has already signed up for those and the MWC has turned them down. That leaves CUSA and the Big East yet to sign deals. The Big East already has the Noon Eastern slot for Saturday games so anything they pick up during the week with be gravy. Location in the East gives the Big East the TV advantage with early Saturday games. CUSA has no such advantage since it is now primarily a Southwest based league. CUSA may be shut out of ESPN altogether and be forced to return to Fox Net.

Jim, For one thing it makes sense that the Big east get the early slot on Saturday because of its time zone. ESPN even had some Ivy League stuff in there at one time. CUSA is not going to get shut out of the deal but the package might not be very attractive. IMHO any weeknight game is unappealing.
As you may know we are going to part of the new Rockets/Astros channel. All of our sports down to girls Tennis will be shown over a five state area. That means every cougar football game will be avilable either through CUSA's national contract or this channel.
As for Fox I wouldn't mind having a deal with them if it were not exclusive. NBC/CNBC/USA is even more intreaging. If that takes off it could have interesting opportunities for all of us. NBC wants to position themselves better vs Fox and ABC. MSNBS/Fox News/CNN.......ESPN/Fox Sports/CNBC-USA. From a marketing standpoint all this exposure will end up busting up the BCS.

who cares about any of this, things will happen whether we like them or not, lets just support our favorite teams/schools and not worry about anything that me or any of you can control, this is just rediculous.

Louisville and Cincinnati have just as many National Championships as Villanova and Georgetown have combined. Louisville has way more victories and have more Final Four appearances then G-Town and Nova combined and yet you state they have just as much tradition.
