Whoever is still here when the contract is signed, and hasn't announced an invitation elsewhere, will be factored into the contract, for whatever the collective value of that particular group is, at the time. If they have announced out, they won't be factored in. But it won't be based on who said what, or on the latest rumor.

There will be a clause in the contract that says, "If anybody leaves, or if two teams leave, or if certain teams leave, or if more teams are added, then the contract will be reopened, and revised upward or downward, as appropriate." And there could be even more specific language.

But THAT is how networks do contracts, NOT by listening to this or that realignment rumor.

Correct, that's how contracts are written, but that's not the issue.

The problem with these fools opening their mouths is that it diminishes the perceived stability of the conference, and as a consequence, risks is shifted against our benefit in the figures that are brought to the table...

Perceived conference stability is worth quite a bit, and useless comments such as those do nothing but shoot us in the foot before we go to the negotiating table....

Wy do you think ESPN works so hard to bash the BE? Obviously, the same principle at work - it's attempting to devalue us before it's exclusive negotiations begin...

People need to STFU about wanting to leave. If you want to go, then great, but until you get an invite keep your dipschit mouths closed....

This comment is worth its weight in gold.

Seriously, any AD that would do otherwise should learn a little something from Terry Holland. Holland has been running his mouth for years about moving to a new conference and now he's playing in the same conference with FCS teams.

Good luck with that one, dude...

BTW, while I'm not a BEast mod any longer, I was one of the ones who helped create the friendly atmosphere this forum once enjoyed. In that spirit, I'd like to ask you to tone down the rhetoric a mite. We can do without the dipschit comment. That's just asking for further trouble...

No harm intended.

Obviously, no forum members are responsible for the comments I referenced... No attack or criticism of anyone here...

Click on USER CP at the top...then click EDIT OPTIONS on the left....and then go back over to the right and click on the button to not show signatures.

Its really easy to do...pages load up a lot faster and threads are much easier to read...as the few with signatures normally just have them so they can gauge a reaction from others.

I just like looking at Kimberly Holland so I am stuck with sigs on....

04-cheers

Love your sig. This is the USA... didn't we invent bigger is better?

Ever notice that most of these statements are from ESPN. Is there truth to the statement or is ESPN just fanning the fire?05-nono

ESPN writers are just digging for bones.
