Kinda surprised Wake is in category 1). I can understand Pitt and Cuse, we're practically doubling our money and then some.

If what David Teel tweeted is true then I feel better about this deal than originally thought. My biggest fear is/was during the back half of the deal when the other conferences negotiate deals again. I could almost see most of the conferences at least double what the ACC is bringing in my 2025/26/27. But the fact that we're able to "look in" every 5 years and find new ways to bring in revenue IE a Network, eases my fears.

Funny thing is Swofford said that the ACC would have gotten more money, if it had better on field performance. The blame falls on the 12 current ACC schools, for not getting a few mil more.

Personally, he(Swofford) may or may not be right I don't know. But I don't think that's the best way to go bout it.

Your characterization of that Wake thread as "we struck it rich" is odd.

Looking at this, the most active online fans seem to be...

Syracuse
Pitt
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
Clemson
State
UVA

It's hard to tell, though. Considering all the WVU leeches.

Not sure why you include the Syracuse fans in category 1. Yes we increased our income, as did everyone else in the ACC. But based on Swofford's statement that we would wait until after the Big East and get more, we should have waited. It looks like Swofford took the first deal. Besides, with FSU as a true contender this season, who knows, that may have upped the payout, too.

Well, one BCS conference has a team that is closing in on 20 years since it's last bowl appearance.

One BCS conference has it's state flagship program with the 4th best record out of the 5 in state FBS programs the past 10 years. That's right, EweNC was only better than Duke the past 10 years as far as wins, and that's giving them credit for the wins they had to vacate because they cheated.

People like to point at FSU, Clemson, and Miami for underachieving but the fact of the matter the biggest underachiever the past 10 years has been EweNC. The sheep fans like to talk about Clemson "always having highly rated recruiting classes and doing nothing with it" but the facts are EweNC has averaged a higher recruiting ranking the past 10 years than Clemson. We've averaged 7.9 wins the past 10 years, won the Atlantic twice and the ACC once. They've averaged 5.4 wins in the same time frame and haven't contended. We share the same state with a SEC program that has averaged 7.1 wins a year in that time frame and one 85 miles away that has averaged 9.8 wins a year. They contend with NC State (6.7), Wake (6.6), ECU (5.6), and Duke (2.5) Who's underachieving again?

UNC is contending w/ VT too (10.2) we pull our share of NC recruits and that is why we don't want to be in a northern division.

And maybe I just wanted to put our double-digit number up there too 03-razz

True.

The flip side is the Atlantic teams as a whole have averaged 7.3 wins a year while the Coastal have averaged 6.7, so they play in the weaker division.
