RE: ESPN: Big East is "an amoebic blob"
Everybody knows this press is part of ESPN's attempt to water down the Big East's marketability for contract purposes.

If the Big East developed a cure for cancer, ESPN would tell us this would the pharma industry into peril. Simply put, they cannot be trusted to treat this objectively. After all, who told the ACC to add schools?

I just think John became hard to reach, had no answers for the the school Presidents, probably wanted to rest on what He thought was enough and just pissed some people off and They got together and Removed Him. Buisness Collateral Damage. My take on it.

The Mayans predicted his resignation centuries ago. The End of Days is near.

ESPN did the same to the MWC for years after it left the world wide leader. Adelson's predecessor Sugar Bear Watson particularly would shoehorn into every article that the MWC wasn't on ESPN as if that was akin to kicking puppies

There is no big deal. In fact, it's more likely we'll be adding a greater asset at that position. I see this as a step forward.

The Mayans did not follow the Roman calender so they did not have leap years. Therefore their doomsday has already passed.

One day later....still best post...and even better than all the "Journalistic" articles that have been written over the past 24 hours.

Exactly. With contracts upcoming it is now all about posturing. Constant negative articles, comments, opinions, and bashing are the same type of tactics used in politics. Tear down the opponent. Truth by omission is not the real truth. ESPN is not about real facts, it is instead about stirring the pot with controversy because that is what sells. When sports shows have nothing but talking heads with another opinion that hypes their favorites and overly criticize the "unworthy" it only goes to show their bias. ESPN isn't about accuracy any longer, it is simply about opinion which lets them off the hook if it is either false or incorrect. If they can "posture" to get a better deal they will do so, but after the deal they will go back to marketing hype to attract viewers. I only tune in to the scores which they can't skew. Since ESPN was bought by ABC they have gone downhill and are a shell of what they used to be.

If I were the new Conference commish, I would point out that ANY league that can still get 7 or 8 teams regularly into the NCAA tourney every year dependably deserves a nice slice of tv pie in the $15-18 million range.
