At this point, it ain't so much about X's and O's as it is about heart, what the Grizz supposedly have plenty of. The series is not over by a mile. One win in LA is all they need, no matter if it is game 3,4 or 6. They will win Wednesday, if they have any heart, and they do. But, I think this series has exposed why it is so hard to compete in the NBA in a small market. You have to have superior talent, and there are only so many of those players to go around. If they are not willing to play in Memphis, Charlotte, Orlando, etc., then it is impossible (sans San Antonio, with the luck of getting Duncan and Robinson) for the small market teams to win big. That's why I am for contracting the NBA to 24 teams. There is just not enough superior basketball talent to maintain a product on every NBA court every night that is worthy to pay top dallar for.

pretty much spot on

I thought that was zbo once again allowing evans to rebound a crucial missed freethrow. Rudy takes the blame however. Not surprised.....

Tony Allen gets the team back in the game in the 4th with his defense on Paul and then barely plays in OT. Don't bring up the whole offense thing I don't care to hear it. TA needs to be on the court at crunch time. It showed tonight how important he is.

Also this is for CUSA NEWS and BIGGESTTIGER did any of yall notice what happened both times conley went out of the game? The grizzlies offense looked lost. And like most have already posted yalls boy Rudy played like doo doo.

1st of all, OJ is not a pg. Period. (Why is OJ running the point at Gilbert is at the two??? Should be reversed. Hollins to blame there)

2ndly, the grizz were hit with an 8-0 run when Conley re-entered the game in the 4th (see my previous post). The commentators even made mention of this. CP3 put his team on his back driving and scoring/dishing while Conley chose to take jumpshots vs driving on Blake. He also committed a cardinal sin... passing the ball at a 7'ers feet!! Game was lossed then.

If they play a bit more controlled- they will likely get the extra basket or two that would have made the difference in the game 1 and game 3 losses.

Especially the late rebound when up three that the Grizzlies could not get.

In the playoffs, when most of the teams are pretty even, a possiession or two make all the difference. one more rebound in game one- a Grizzly win. one more in game three- a Grizzly win.

Get those- recognize that the Clippers are not some sacrificial lamb but a more than capable NBA team, and the slightly better total team, Memphis, can win three in a row.

A good crowd Wednesday will help- get it rolling and get the Clippers to rely on going home for a game 6.

Then the players can worry about game 6. They can win three in a row...but again, must think about basketball...and these are professionals, but the weight of expectations seems to have gotten to them a little bit- something that hurt the college kids at a bad time- but these are millionaire athletes. Lose because the other millionaire athletes make more plays, not because of a few missed plays when it really mattered.

Calkins confirms two things. It was Zach once again getting beat by Evans on the rebound and that Marc and Zbo have gone away from grit ball in the paint and instead settling for fadeway shots (Marc fading away on Blake who had 5 fouls and Zbo not being able to dribble past defenders like Evans so he shoots a fadeway).

Zach has no lateral movement... Marc has no 4thQ urgency (hence no inside threat to open the perimeter)...

OJ hasnt made a jumpshot in 2 games.... Conley only shoots jumpshots. TA has NO jumpshot.

Allen is good enough to make a shot if he is left open. In fact, going into game 4, TA had the highest 4th qtr FG% on the team. Im going to start a new thread on how the game was officiated and why it ended up like it did. The Grizzlies played terrible but the sloppiness should have been controlled by the whistles.

Grizz played hard last night but no one player played well except for Conley last night. That doesn't mean he has been great in the series but he was very good last night. Rudy...not so much...I wish he would not allow the non-calls to affect him. If he can play with the intensity he showed in the 4th Q for an entire game, then we can still win 3 in a row.

Rudy is the laziest mf'er I have ever seen on defense. He doesnt even try to act like he cares.
